You don't know that so please keep the crystal ball in the closet..

Not to mention the fact we're talking about a 30 year old RB with cronic ankle problems.. Being a upgrade may come simply by being younger and more healthier..

I watch them enough to know that they bring nothing to our offense. If we continue this trend of slow backs and slow receivers the offense will continue to sputter.

Been bouncing back and forth between Fournette, Hunt, Perine, and Conner.

Would love either of em. The more I see of Perine, the more I'd like him to be wherever Carolina is ready to take him. :3

Perine reminds me of JStew, but with his own style. Watching him just punish defenders (BRUH 31 BENCH!?) will be awesome. Unless it's our defenders. Then fug him.

I agree that a lack of speed is the weak point on our offense.  We need an injection of athleticism in the worst way.

I don't think that means it has to come from the RB spot. I think Perine could work in our O if we add speed outside and in the slot - say draft Howard in round 1, a fast WR on day 2, and Perine on day 3.

But rolling with Perine, KB, Funchess, and Olsen is going to be a recipe for failure, I'm afraid.

Long time listener first time caller. Not much of a scout here but after looking at all these guys highlight videos Perine seemed the most impressive. Reminded me of a bigger Maurice Jones-Drew. Guys balance is ridiculous! If the biggest knock is straight line speed well then I guess we'll have to settle for 40 yard chunks instead of 70.

Perrine was so over shadowed by Mixon I just don't see him as a featured back. He can't get around the edge.

Give me Kamara in the second.

He reminds me of Tolbert before he got super fat more than Stewart, but either way I think he would be a good fit here. Even if we drafted Fournette at 8 Perine could still be in play as a Tolbert replacement.

I know this is supposedly a deep running back class so maybe it's just me but I'm not a huge fan of most of the mid-late round talent.  I like Marlon Mack but he has ball security issues.  Jeremy McNichols is one I have an eye on.

    • To all the analysts who said "Caps in 5", thank you for telling us their departure time.
    • We won't know the answer to this for a long time. Reality is, Caleb has been the consensus #1 in that draft for years. Bryce was a similar situation, but mostly the same. He was not the clear and obvious #1 that Caleb was, but most teams had Bryce at QB1. The Panthers were always going to be terrible Bryce's rookie year.  I don't think DJ Moore's presence would have changed anything about that offense, as our guards, center, and left tackle were getting demolished on nearly every snap. It's clear Caleb's dad was trying to do everything possible to ensure Caleb didn't end up in Chicago with Eberflus. It's hard to imagine that he wouldn't have done the same, but probably more publicly with our situation, considering Carolina is an easier target for the media than Chicago. We can all speculate, but it's impossible to tell who is going to have the better career on May 16, 2025. If either QB doesn't pan out, we have an easy answer. If both flame out, the bears clearly won the trade, but it wouldn't have really mattered anyway. We all know how we win the trade. Candidly, even if one of the other picks we gave up ends up being a hall of fame player, we don't know if the panthers would have taken that player anyway. All you can do is make the best decision you can in the moment with the information you have. I really like Bryce Young, and I'm glad he's a Carolina Panther.  The only way to win in the modern NFL is to have an absolute dude at QB. I personally am happy that our franchise recognizes this, as I remember times when they did not.
