Teams becoming more comfortable with Joe Mixon, than Dalvin Cook

Teams are doing their due diligence because talent wise he is probably one of the top 2-3 running backs in this draft.   I would bank on a team drafting Mixon before the end of the 3rd round if he even slides that far.  Team will be making a risky PR move by drafting him but if they interview and provide Mixon with the right locker room presence and "help" he needs then a team will be getting one of the biggest steals in this draft.

Actually, he's not off as many as you would expect.  He said as many as 15 teams have interviewed him.  That's still a little less than half the NFL.

He will end up at a perenial playoff/powerhouse. GB/NE/Pitt because those organizations know what it takes to win and win consistently and ignore the noise from the PC police.

My BF is a Broncos fan and he says there has been significant chatter about Mixon going to Denver. I'd rather see him end up there (if not here) then somewhere else in the NFC, personally.

Yea if he ends up in GB that's bad news for the rest of the NFC. Wouldn't mind Denver as much but to my point thats Elway not giving a fug about public perception. Win at all costs.

Firing squad bruh let me have it. Leave the hood off too I wanna see.

I'd be scared as hell of that chair though fug that...wonder how/why that ever got going? Be easier to just bullet to the head or the ole "soldiers death" with a sword. Rather have that than be shocked to a crisp. That Green Mile scene though. got me trippin on some poo I'd never have to worry about but still.

The more I see cook fall, the more I consider him to carolina.

If you watched these guys live (cook, fournette, McCaffrey), cook was far and away the most jump-out-of-your-seat exciting.

Maybe it's because this is ACC country and the exposure is greater... but the off-season has been awful for Cooks draft stock.

If he can bring, to the NFL, what he brought in college, him as a 2.8 candidate screams value to me.

    • A winning record would be nice, but I still have us winning around the 6 to 8 game mark. Realistically we should beat the Jets and Saints, that gets us to 5 wins. After that, we have to face a lot of potential play off teams and our divisional opponents. I think we’ll win 1 or 2 of those games to take us to 6 or 7 wins, perhaps 8 wins if we can spring a further surprise.  Is that enough progress for head coach and QB? I’m not sure, it will depend on performances and output. That said, it’s nice to be back in a position where we are thinking about the play offs.
    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.
    • Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.
