no OT? in any round? absolutely unacceptable

Keep in mind, Gman is a real life GM. Unlike us, he does not just cross off positions that he needs.

He will take the best guy, there WILL be a position that we need that we will NOT address. Ex. safety or OT or FB

well then ill quit being a panthers fan then. if hes willing to risk that then i cant help him. so there. lol.

in all seriousness, we need  to maybe draft two OL

a right tackle ans elflein, who can play guard (insurance) or center if kalil gets injured and ultimately retires.

Its certainly possible we do but the OT position is extremely weak and other positions are extremely deep (CB,S,TE) The best way to maximize our draft is to take best player regardless of position. We'll see

I Don't think 40 and 98 would be enough to jump back into the first, and I think Gonzalez goes fifth at the latest (good kickers keep going earlier and earlier the past few years it seems). I don't hate most the picks but I don't love them either.

You are correct: Last year's 49er/Chiefs deal

San Francisco’s pick was No. 28 overall, acquired in an on-the-clock trade with the Chiefs. The 49ers sent their second-, fourth- and sixth-round picks to Kansas City to make the deal.

It's a lousy year for tackles.

Lots of other positions are good though.

We might have to give up BOTH #2

Howard is a special player,

if he is still there, and the Panthers don't take him, wow.

He instantly makes the line better for both passing and running and he makes Newton better and is a matchup, problem  there plenty of Dline candidates in this draft but not many big time offensive superstars  Howard is one.

his still being there  at eight is a big if

Never heard of this lady until today but that's one of the best pieces I've read on the Observer in.....forever. Great and realistic writeup. Look forward to more of her pieces.

She's been doing good work for awhile and getting better all the time. Up and coming local sports reporters and local radio isn't nearly as bad as many make it out to be. Lots of good interviews and guests hosts that give great perspectives. People (not pointing a finger at you) are missing out on a lot of good information.

    • I agree with OP notion, QBs always get credited for game winning drives even if they do minimal. Just last night Caleb got credited for a GE drive when they basically ran the ball the whole drive and only had to go 36 yards.   And there are drives where Bryce could of had a game winning drive if not for a Legette drop vs Philly or a Chubba fumble vs Tampa
    • You are actually, genuinely comparing Bryce to Jimmy fuging Pickles? Jimmy accounted for 3 touchdowns in his 10 starts in 2010. In Bryce’s 10 games post benching last year, he accounted for 20 touchdowns. Jimmy threw three touchdowns in 2010. Three. Bryce has thrown 10 touchdowns through 6 games. He is currently on track to throw for 3300 yards, 28 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Wtf are we even talking about anymore. I mean seriously
    • Tepper? The guy that directs the coaches towards goals that he set for them… that guy. He is the one.    I don’t think he ever was going to be expelled from class, they had him come in for garbage time maybe the 2nd week he was benched.  I will say this. People said he wasn’t under pressure the last part of the year when he did better, but he was fighting for his career and that’s pressure. And he saved his career too. I don’t reject him for those kinds of things I reject him for the physical things. I have always brought it down to he has slim margin for error and has to be perfect. People with the tool set have a little fatter margin for error. Why make it harder on yourself? Got nothing to do with hating him.  I am no statistician but game that margin thing out a lot and see how that works.
