Hell no, the season before he had problems with drops and awareness(quit on a route resulting in a int in the 2014 playoffs vs cards). Then the Super Bowl where he couldn't catch a cold.

Agree with the OP. He looks like another one of these guys we sign on the cheap hoping for magic.
It's time for the front office to find a good WR to compliment KB. If at some point Funchess develops, fine, having 3 good receivers would be a nice problem to have.

To be fair we don't really know what could happen next year anything could happen next year KB could be God awful Funchess could be amazing , which I don't really believe either one of those things will happen BUT we don't know we have probably a good prediction somewhat but we don't know that is the bottom line with all of these players we don't know if Cam is going to be ready in September we don't know if we're going to have injuries like we did last year it's all a draw and there is no certainty in anything in this game or life period. So I don't get the whole bashing thing let's just wait till we actually see him do something before we jump on him can we hold off till he actually fugs up before we start getting mad. I mean it's not like we can do anything or change anything so we just have to wait and see. I don't really like to hate on other peoples threads because I don't like people commenting on my threads being ridiculous but this is just negativity unnecessarily there's so much that has to happen before the season even gets started that you could use to base this off of but none of that has happened yet so let's not jump off the cliff so soon let's just wait and see it's way too early.

He does look pretty awful in that video. I don't know what happened. He seemed really promising in 2014, his rookie year, and had a string of pretty respectable games. I remember thinking that he was impressive after that special teams poo-show against Minnesota. Looking back at the stats from the game, he had a pair of ~20 yard catches, although it seemed like he was more active than that. He doesn't have to be great to match the WR 3,4 production that we've been getting lately. I am optimistic.

EDIT: as a rookie wr, on a sub-par team with a rookie qb most of the season, he put up 31 catches and 475 yards. That year he was basically just as good as Philly and Funchess have been at their peak.

And in my opinion, the team needs to give Cam another legit WR.

He doesn't look his best, but he has looked better (see his month tear in 2014), and that's probably why Gettleman gave him the opportunity.  The throws are markedly more suspect than his ability to get open from what I saw.

Ginn didn't look great either when he first arrived in Charlotte. Didn't look great when he left either, regardless of how you want to spin it. Our offense never did hinge upon the JAG speedster that was Ginn, and it won't hinge upon Johnson either. They were/are supposed to be the ancillary receiver that relieves some of that pressure for everyone else, or make defenses pay for not respecting their speed.

It remains to be seen whether CJ2 can do that within this offense, but his chances have to be better here because this offense, as opposed to what the Vikings have become the last couple of years, is vertically legit.
