Thanks for reminding me about the bust that Swole was for us. In training camp shorts he was sight to see. On the field he was largely invisible.

Meh, I can't call him a bust. He was a UDFA for a reason. Pretty much impossible to be a bust as a UDFA.

Taco has tons of athletic potential. Didn't really see the lack of effort you are referring to but I claim no scouting expertise.

As a 64 pick or late second rounder it isn't much different than 72 despite what Gettleman said to save face so maybe there. Still I want to bundle that pick and the 40th pick to move back into the first to snatch a top 10 pick that fall into the 20s.

Taco does, but he disappoints when it comes to technique. I'd argue he's even worse off than Kpassagnon just based on how many times he should've done something but just sits there.

I just hate his effort level. Here's an example:

You'll see a lot of this. Taco clearly has the leverage, but then just stops. Instead of remainnig relentless and going after the quarterback, he stops. He changes direction only when the QB sees him, but that pause gave the QB the out he needed.

Once a tackle moves his shoulders like that, the DE has the clear advantage and should just keep pursuing at that point, yet Taco just stops.

Just some parts of Taco's tape that make me feel like he doesn't even warrant a high second rounder.

He was an UDFA not a bust.

Pure straight line player with virtually nonexistent change of direction skills. But, he has the height/weight measurement that make Gettleman tent his nippleshorts, so I could see is over-drafting him. IMO, anything earlier than the 3rd is overdrafting him and I honestly think he fits best as a 3-4 DE.

He can develop into a  JPP esque type of player, its not like he can't develop other moves while learning under Peppers , CJ, & Mario.

His ability to stop the run and high ceiling could make him a steal in bottom half of  2nd round.

It wasn't about where he was acquired, it was about the physical specimen he was.  If he could have translated that into performance it would have been epic. But he never even showed flashes. A bust of all that potential.

What you said is true of Taco. He is raw and doesn't have a ton of game experience but if you are looking for someone for Peppers to mentor. Taco is Peppers lite.

Peppers athletic ability >>>>>>> Taco's athletic ability.

Of course. Peppers is an athletic freak. There is no one else like him. Taco is long and athletic like Peppers. With another 20 lbs of muscle and much better technique Taco can be a very good DE. And Peppers would be a great mentor.

SPARQ likes him quite a bit. Despite not possessing decent agility or great fluid hips, he's a guy who still finds a way to get to the QB and RB. His long arms are weapons and he's a big strong guy who plays with a chip on his shoulder.

Showed decent hips and bend at he senior bowl.  Looked like a absolute Freak just needs work on technique.  Was getting pretty much identical reviews coming out of mobile as Bradberry last year.

Get Tanoh in the 3rd and let him groom under Pep and CJ this year.

The body builder physique doesn't seem to ever be a plus on the field. His didn't really have the frame for the position. Kicking the poo out of Saints players was his forte
