Gettlemen presser thread

I wouldn't rule out a trade down in round 1. The question that was posed about teams below us calling about a trade made Gettleman giggle like a school girl. He wouldn't answer of course, but it seems that anytime he gets struck by a question enough to laugh, he has a "tell" there.

Ideally I think Gettleman wants to trade down for another top 100 pick and package some picks together to move up our positions and STILL take 4 players in the 1st 3 rounds. Just at higher slots of course.

Gettleman really stressed the fact that this draft is deep and that we like having more picks. So this is not a case of trying to get quality over quantity it seems. It looks like quality and quantity can line up, at least in the early rounds.

My guess is that we take 1 RB, 1 DE, and 2 DB's with the first four picks. WR will have to wait another year. The depth at those positions is too good and we certainly need more youth and speed at those positions.

Almost makes me wish we traded out of the 1st round last year to pick up a 1st this year. This draft seems really great compared to other drafts.

They really like both RBs at 8, of course they like Fournette more but I wouldnt be surprised by McCaffrey at 8.

Igo's been saying Fournette's higher on their board but this pretty much confirms it for me. They dismissed the concerns about McCaffrey when grilled but they're going out of their way to do it for Leonard. Getting the impression that they're being loose lipped because it'll be nice menu at 8 no matter what.

I was thinking something similar. The wildcard here is whether or not Njoku falls in round 1 and they think enough of him to go get him.

I really think they want to walk away with a combination of:

McCaffrey/Fournette

Howard/Njoku

DB

DE

But of course if Njoku gets picked earlier than expected, it didn't seem to me that Gettleman was too thrilled with the TE class as a whole. "Lots of flavors" as he puts it. But not many guys that have everything they are wanting.

From what I gather it looks like offense will take a backseat again. Cam will be stuck struggling with poor talent and aging vets around him. Hopefully I am wrong but it looks like CB, DE, S, RB first 3 rounds.

Drafting ANY form of talent on offense or defense, helps Cam. How many years did Peyton waste putting up ridiculous numbers because he had to because his defense couldn't stop a highschool team from scoring? Not to mention that Peyton didn't win Superbowl 50, his defense did.
