Gettlemen presser thread

Drafting ANY form of talent on offense or defense, helps Cam. How many years did Peyton waste putting up ridiculous numbers because he had to because his defense couldn't stop a highschool team from scoring? Not to mention that Peyton didn't win Superbowl 50, his defense did.

Sure but he still had a more reliable offense than us when both teams faced good defenses. To each their own, and if I am right we will have this same convo next year at the same time.

I think CB is absolutely in play. Still not sold on Worley, but he'd be great depth to have. Gotta remember, we have virtually nothing at CB past Bradberry, Worley, and Captain.

Correct sir.  After Bradberry and maybe Captain, I'm not sold on our Cbs.  I would be terrified if the FO is too.

I wouldn't be shocked in the atleast bit if we double dipped CB later in the draft.

Wouldn't really be suprised if we picked Lattimore. Wouldn't like the pick (as I didn't like picking Butler last year) but almost all Gettleman's first rounders are always picks that I'm not expecting or like particularly and at not a position of pressing need. So by that logic the pick very well could be Lattimore or Allen. Bleh. I want on offense player in the first T.T The only defender I want at 8 is probably Jamal Adams .

I think KB will bounce back this year. Didn't our strength and condition coach say his injury would take two years to bounce back from? We could see KB turn it up the last couple of games and play well. Funchess is also very young (22 I think) and he will improve. I was disappointed in our WRs as well this year, but I think they will be much better this year. If we get a stud TE or a stud RB, complimentary players, we will be fine. Fournette/mcaffery would be huge, as would Howard or Engram. I was high in Ross because he fits us and would fill a huge need, but with the new report about his knees...not so much.

I agree with most of what you said, especially about Benjamin.  But I am not so sure about Funchess.  He just seemed to rarely if ever get any separation, and didn't have the strength and hands to make catches in traffic like KB can.  Hopefully, it just appeared that way because of our  poor offense in general, and he shows something this year.  But I have my doubts.

I agree but from what I gathered from Press Con we are likely to go defense first few picks. We shall see.

You may be right. This season will tell us a lot on Funch, I feel a lot of what you listed could be confidence issues. He has the tools and work ethic, just needs to put them all together.

I'm ok with that as well. Honestly, I'm ok with whoever we pick. I trust DG as unpopular as that sounds. I like the offensive players better for the first pick, but if Adams is there or Thomas...yes please.

That is pretty much where I'm at.

Call it blind faith or whatever- I just feel certain Gettleman is on a missionhas been all offseason and I'm confident where we are at headed into the draft.

We are going to get a very good player at 8.

Completely agree. I have a good feeling. Even if it's a cb, even if we trade down (which I would love) or if we trade back into the first. Just please don't trade up from 8

I'm with you guys. Questioned a few moved over the years with DG but overall he has surprisingly shocked me with his eye for talent and his trailblazing tactics more than questionable ones.

In DG i trust.

Can predict one thing with absolution, the Carolina Panthers will select an elite player in the 1st

Gettleman doesn't think RBs were devalued by NFL teams in recent years. Says there just weren't elite players at the position in years past.

Prepare your anus for more run-run-incomplete-punt this year.

But we'll definitely be doing run-run-incomplete-punt even more physically and with once-in-a-generation players, you ingrates!
