Garrett is the best talent in this draft.  Having him learn from some of our vet DEs while on the cheap?  Yes, that's hard to beat.

I love Fournette.  I don't think Cleveland can screw this up by skipping Garrett, but if they did, we'd jump up there to claim him.

Myles Garrett. He has the body of a sack master. We know what that looks like and what it can mean for a 4-3 defense that relies on pressure from the front 4. The Carolina Panthers cannot pass on Garrett is he becomes available unless some team offers an outrageous deal. fug Fournette if Garrett is there.

Fournette is a beast who can truck DBs and LBs and also run away from them and leave them in the dust. Fantastic.

But Garrette, once he has an offseason of weight training, should be able to rush the passer and rack up vicious sacks and consistent pressure. Add him to our already very good d-line and you pretty much take away opposing teams ability to throw the deep ball as much as they want. That means less points, and more turnovers for our opposition. Perfect because we're not a high flying offense.

This isn't even a question.

Garrett hands down.

Respect your intelligence but I think there's a legit question here.

I would take fournette.  I think he is less of a risk.  Myles garrett could bust.  Happens all the time with these "can't miss" DE's.  if you're picking #2  priority number 1 is picking a player that is GOING to return on investment.  You have a higher chance of that by picking fournette than picking Garrett.   Now,  I'm  NOT saying that fournette couldn't bust,  but I'm saying if we're playing roulette I'm putting my chips on fournette if we talking #2 pick in the draft.  Stakes are too high.  Go with the surer thing.

Illuminating thread. Found some sanjay alts pop up for sure.

This isn't Courtney Brown here folks. Garrett is a guy that can effect so much more than Fournette. Did we not learn in the SB what a top pass rusher can do to completely shut down an offense? Fournette unlike Zeke, isn't getting the best line in 20 years to play behind. Add Garrett and you could be talking about the best Dline in the salary cap era, no offense Texans.

    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
    • Certainly not going to miss his constant whiffs on sacks and tackles.
