Buffalo Bringing Beane Back for 2nd Interview

They can have him. Just because I watched Eric Clapton for twenty years and stole licks and chord progressions from him, doesn't mean I will ever play like him. He comes from a finance background and D.G a scouting background. Don't worry because D.G will find us the right guy when it's time.

Is there a chance that the Panthers are cool with allowing him to go train in a different organization? Like "go to Buffalo, learn as much as you can about being a GM, when you're ready come back." It's like he's connecting to a software training environment where he can't mess up anything that actually matters (to the Panthers).

As GM of another team - even one that's in the AFC - there's plenty he could do that would mess up things that matter to the Panthers.

I think it's more just a case of their not wanting to stand in the way of him getting a good opportunity.

    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model.
    • lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
