It's a business and he is grossly underpaid for the talent he brings

That's the way it works it works. Granted, $1.8 million ain't much for a player of his caliber, but he'll get his big payday eventually. If he was really worried about money, he stop being a jackass and racking up all those fines!

Meanwhile back in Charlotte, Trai is playing on the same salary and not being a little bitch about it:

"Selected in the third round of the 2014 draft, Turner has just one year left on his rookie deal and is in line to cash in on the impressive start to his career. Turner, however, made it clear he didn't want to discuss his contract status. Instead, he's focused on helping the Panthers bounce back from the first season in his career that didn't end with a playoff game."

And if Trai heaven forbid suffers a Dante Culpepper style knee injury then guys career earnings went to the waste side (see LeCharles Bentley). There's no right side to this but you shouldn't be vilified for asking market value when the other side can cut you at any moment when your production doesn't match your salary

I hear ya, but with the salary cap being what it is, and the huge contracts players are signing once eligible, It's hard for franchises to keep good players without exploiting (not sure this is the right word) the rookie contracts. I don't hate OBJ for trying to get paid or skipping voluntary workouts... I hate him for being such a crybaby turd.

That's the rookie contract a chance to play for a bigger contract. He should honor his commitment.

Technically, he's not holding out, right?  He's just not taking part in voluntary workouts and will be there when they become mandatory.

    • I think we pick it up and then someone else ends up emerging as the QB next year and we end up cutting him in year 5 and eating it.  That would be the most on brand thing to happen.
    • Evero has his faults, but even in that loss, the team only gave up 20 points. Your post gets to the heart of the matter. We are not a talented team on defense at this time. Some of our younger guys may develop w/more playing time, but for now we have no impact players at LB or EDGE. We could really use a ball-hawking S on the back end as well. We have exactly two players that have to be accounted for on every play, D. Brown, and J.Horn. Mike Jackson has been solid. The other starters would probably be backups on most the upper echelon NFL teams. We really can't expect this team to a Top 10 defense with such a lack of talent. All things considered I've been somewhat impressed with how much better they have played this year.   https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-points-per-game   https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-average-team-passer-rating We are in the top 15 in terms of points allowed per game (22.6) and top 12 in defensive passer rating (88.9). And, we are doing this without a formidable PASS RUSH. Even our rushing defense has improved. We are #16 in rushing yards allowed per game (116) compared to 179 per game last season. https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/opponent-rushing-yards-per-game I wouldn't cry if Evero moved on after the season, but his defense isn't the biggest worry for our team.
    • The funny part is she looks older and not in a good way...
