Draft Picks 2010

The song and all the videos they've made to promote his "Heisman Campaign" are just ridiculous. Still, he's wherever he's needed on defense.

QBs haven't been brave enough to throw his direction all year. The Golden Calf of Bristol tried to get cute, and got picked off.

He'll be a great NFL safety.

You just described the QB that has been leading this team since 2003. People constantly underestimate intangibles. I will agree that he doesn't have the prototypical throwing motion and he does take too long to throw the ball (that one I do believe can be worked on). I don't think I would call his arm average, he doesn't have Cutler, Falco, or Russel arm strength but neither do Manning or Brady (two of the best QB's in NFL history). I have seen him make better longballs then Jake even in his hayday. He also is one hell of a leader and without him Florida is not the contender they have been the last 4 years. He just wins football games and thats what I want in my QB.

Pat White was taken in the 2nd last year because of the wildcat formation. I think The Golden Calf of Bristol is a lot better passer and leader and he also has a better chance succeeding in the wildcat because of his experiences in similar formations and plays at Florida. We pick him up in the 2nd and at worst he contributes year one in the wildcat.

I like The Golden Calf of Bristol.but i dont think he is what the panthers are looking for when it comes to a pure drop back passer.

Flacco adjusted pretty well to the NFL, coming from a spread offense. I definitely do not want The Golden Calf of Bristol, let me make that clear. The big armed qb is overrated (see Russell). Drew Brees and Tom Brady get by very well with slightly above average arm strength. An accurate qb who makes good decisions is the best option as long as one is available by the time we can draft.

when is McNabbs contract up?

He was given a raise earlier this year. ESPN says it was a raise for the final 2 years of his contract, so if Kolb still looks good down the road, he will likely be a FA after next year, but with the uncapped year looking like it will happen, who knows.

Cotl McCoy or Eric Berry. Colt McCoy is a tough passer, makes smart choices most times, and as an amazing passer overall. Eric Berry on the other hand is ne of the best Safeties I've seen come out of college in a long, long time. He hits hard and he makes big plays. I'd love to see him in the Panther's defense next year.

    • I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons.   Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).
    • It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.
