Guy gets drafted.  Comes in, keeps his head down, gets crushed his rookie year under a lame duck coach and generally sucks.  Keeps his mouth shut and just works.  His replacement is drafted before his second year.  Still comes to work, keeps his mouth shut even though it's obvious the new guy has physical tools far, far beyond him.  Always says good things about everyone, does what he's asked, just works.

Eventually, some loser on a message board gives him poo.  But he doesn't know, he's too busy with his millions and his super-hot beach volleyball playing wife to notice.  Life is good.  Trolls are ineffective.

I know the popular opinion here is to bash everything he ever did. And yes, he did stink for us. 

But if you go back and watch his back up stints it is nowhere near as bad. He earned those chances the hard way. If the NFL still had the third qb rule, he would have a job on a team with a solid aging starter and the potential future qb drafted but not ready.

I've said before,..I'm a Notre Dame fan, and after watching Clausen for 3 years, I knew he would not translate to the NFL. But we drafted him (saw that coming) and I was the saddest Panther fan ever, to that point in history. But we did get Cam, so, I have a soft spot for JC.
