The guy knows he blew the top off our FO and now has to cover. I'm sorry, it's true. Yet people will keep saying "we don't know." He doesn't get any leadership points for pushing it and then backing off after something blows up.

I'm not gonna be happy with him for a long time.

Well, Ship out!

Just kidding. I couldn't resist.

Funchess needed to be in Baltimore more than anyone

Yeah, I groaned when I saw that.

I respect his wanting to be available for his grandfather, but Funchess really needed to be with Cam and the other receivers.  Not optimistic about him, I'm afraid.  I was a fan his rookie season, but last year after being training camp star, he just vanished.  Sure our coaches had a little something to do with it (maybe not playing him most advantageously), but Funchess didn't take advantage of the opportunities he did have,

I once started a STFU thread about J-Stew. I really look forward to starting another one on Funchess. I'm not holding my breath or as sure as I was about Stew, but I really really look forward to starting that thread. And I will do it regardless of whether someone beats me to it, so you're on notice.

I truly hope so.  And I'm in no way dissing him for choosing to be with his grandfather.  I'm just sad it meant he couldn't be with Cam & the guys.

If Funchess has a lackluster season in 2017, then I'll finally begin to doubt he'll ever be that good.  But not until after this season, you have to give guys at least 3 years minimum. (especially when they are as young as Funch was as a rookie)

I'm making a Funchess thread as we speak.

I may change some of you guy's perception on him. I even remember another guy I know saying he's confident Funchess has the potential to put together a 1000 yard season this year just based on 2016's film.

Stay tuned.

I'm about to start the Funchess hype train today with a thread to blow everyone away.

Where is Cam? Not that I'm worried or anything but I have seen nothing on him at all yet.

Voth mentioned earlier on Twitter Cam was there. "The eagle has landed."

Came in behind the scenes...probably after media was allowed to be there.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
