Well after CJ, Addison, Pep, I can't name one I wouldn't do that for

You would cut Hall?

i sure as hell wouldnt. He has a ton of potential. Might not do much this year but i feel a CJ type of projection for him as far as getting better and better each year

He's too small to play outside 4-3 DE, yeah?  I don't think I've really watched him since he was at Louisville.  I def wouldn't cut anybody on defense for him, but I would give him a shot since Delaire was cut.  Why not?

What DE on our roster would you cut to make room for him?  I can't name one.

Maybe Horton, as he always seems to survive waivers in the need he needs to return, 6'3 250 ish as a rotational speed rusher, I'd like to see how he looks, or even cut one of our 20 receivers on this camp roster, it doesn't necessarily have to be a DE to get into camp as far as making room.

Peppers, Addison, Johnson, Hall are the locks essentially, and we've got a 5th spot up for grabs potentially.

Wes Horton

I dunno.  Horton has been in 18 games in the past two years, and has 18 tackles with 3.5 sacks and a pass defensed in a reserve role.  Smith has started in 29 games the past two years and has 23 tackles and 4 sacks.  Horton is only 27, and is bigger than Smith too.

If Smith hadn't been a first round pick, he probably would have been cut last year.  Horton is our worst DE, but I'm not sold that Smith would be any improvement over him at all, and may not be as good in rotation.

    • Lil Stanky 100% in the dot tonight... And our 2nd line has been our best offensive line this season. Maybe our 2C really was on the roster this whole time...?
    • That’s a grade I kind of expected tbh. I’m not a huge fan of NS, but he’s not as bad as what the huddle says he is minus the horrible game he had vs the Rams. I’ve always thought he’s often used as a scapegoat. The improved pass rush should hide his deficiencies a little bit better if he’s the game one starter. FS might have to be a position we punt on this year unless Thieneman falls to us at 19. The reality is, you're going to have a few average players in certain spots for a team with as many holes we had before free agency started. You can’t sign everyone.
    • I am by no means trying to say he's a world beater. I'm saying it's trending in the right direction. Especially when measured against himself.i think the team feel the same way or else they wouldn't have picked up his option. Plus I think there is a new idea in the NFL about these young QBs. Teams give up to soon. Browns gave up to soon on baker same with the jets on Geno and darnold. Maybe they are who you thought they were in the draft process and they need more time to develop than you originally planned. Either way. I do think he is as capable as darnold is as far as you can win a championship with him. And something he does have that darnold doesn't is he is clutch.  If I need one more drive and 2 mins to go I'm betting on Bryce and I am far from a homer, just going off his game winning drives. He has that dog in him on the last drive.
