Who ya got?

Stock Up: Damiere Byrd, Joe Webb, David Mayo, Jared Norris, Kaelin Clay, Christian McCaffrey (shocking I know), first team OL, Kelvin Benjamin

Stock Down: DL after first team (SOOOO many mistakes and missed opportunities), Cole Luke, Austin Duke, and I'll throw Funchess in there too (didn't do much at all despite the hype)

Damn, dude. Funchess barely played.

Well, he's 6-5. Benji is expected to that every Sunday.

6-5 doesn't mean poo when a elite CB locks you down. He out positioned Joseph and owned him. Like I said not easy to do to a elite CB.

I was pretty darn pleased with what we saw out of our first string on both sides of the ball. The D wasn't pretty once the starters went to the sidelines. Byrd looked very promising. Other than the errant throw that led to the INT, Webb looked really damn good.

Yea Byrd needs first team reps to see if he can get by the best.

Stock Up: Joe Webb, Damiere Byrd, David Mayo, Jared Norris, Kaelin Clay, Christian McCaffrey, CAP, Entire OL (starters and backups) , Kelvin Benjamin, Teddy Williams, Cole Luke, KK, James Bradberry, Daryl Worley, and Harrison Butker.

Stock Down: Ben Boulware (seemed slow for a linebacker at this level), Graham Gano, Fozzy Whittaker, Jeremy Cash, and Austin Duke.

    • I suppose it depends on what you mean as 'elite'. I typically mean someone that can play with lower level pieces around them and still win. There are very few of those.
    • It would obviously be incredible if Brooks came back and just ran away with the job on his opportunities like Rico Dowdle did last year. But any Panthers fan that has been around the block knows better than to go ahead and make plans for that. Brooks has missed a ton of not just playing time but meaningful early career growth in a league that has increasingly devalued the position from an investment standpoint beyond one or two superstars. There's really not any comparison to look back on that lines up with the current iteration of the league at least not favorably. The key thing that this RB room has going for them is our investment in the OL. The highest paid OL in the league two years in a row paired with our staff should make it easier for just about any RB to get into open running lanes. But that is also anything but a given considering our OL was largely middle of the pack last year. In the end it might all be a moot point anyways if we again struggle to establish a viable passing attack.
    • I don't have him making the team and I think same goes for the staff, but they are hopeful for a PS spot.    I mean of course I'd like 3 all-world at RB and every spot, just doesn't work that why. Panthers normally carry 3. dan always talk up Etienne, even called him a future star.....I think Brooks will be fine as a 2 with health pls.....  Chubba can carry a seasons load as lead dawg.    Its fine, I mean backup OGs or CB is much higher on my worry scale(Id even put QB room as worse than RB room too...)
