Kicks from last night: Butker 5 , Gano 1

Sure does seem like the Panthers are wanting to get one final look at Butker before making a decision, huh?

Maybe last night actually did have an effect on the roster.

Maybe. Another possibility is they knew they are planning to cut Butker and wanted him to get as much film as possible to catch on with another team.

I hate that this is even a debate. It should be Butker over Gano easily. He has a strong leg and is already more accurate. Not to mention that he is 10 years younger than Gano. I know age doesn't usually matter, but it shows that Butker already has traits of an NFL kicker and will continue to get better. Gano can't even be consistent on extra points. How is this a debate again?

Yeah but all Butker did was kick off and kick an extra point.

He made the extra point kicks. Gano is still trying to figure out how the kid did it.

Gano has missed 6 extra point kicks the last two seasons. 6! For what should be a chip shot everytime.

You get paid to do one thing... Make kicks. And you can't even do that.

He's paid for two things. The other is to kick it out of the end zone. Rivera got burned too many times with crappy kickoff coverage his first few seasons here. He wants the other team to start on the 25 every time.

    • I believe Lloyd will elevate not just the whole unit, but also whoever his running mate is. Wallace is still very young, I think he's only 23 with two years of exp now. Cherelus can handle starting, he's just fighting with staying healthy. Kuwatch I think is going to be a contender after a couple week of understanding the system.  I mean Lee will be against..... what nearly 10 NFL-level WRs, he's going to get work and its up to him if he can hang.  I think its fair to expect 12th +/- 3 or 4 spots.  You know this, it boils down to how healthy everyone stays.....cause if dbrown, horn, Lloyd, Michael Jackson, or tervon miss extended time.....no way 10th can be reached. IF all the names above remain haethly, I do think 10th should be the goal. They are a young unit and added talent to a 16th ranked unit. Its time to march forward!!
    • Varying degrees all around but it starts at the top. That is where the buck stops. It has been 8 years of stupid, long before Morgan came back. Or Tillis was hired. Made it to the top of stupid mountain in 2023. Stayed in stupid limbo for a while, now we are prepping to scale the next mountain. In this case, I like those guys’ roster building better than what we have had so I am okay with them as our current pawns in the game of Bryce.
    • Don't let me gas him up too much, but I hear this and that...... I seen a wide body man with a quick burst, that's able to shed blocks and if extends his long arms its over. He tore up the OL in the senior, you seen about 10 plays and the dog walking OLman. There's other plays of him doing the same, just have to deal with fetus talking over the plays. Plus there's this-  https://x.com/PFF_College/status/2018385471068332410?lang=en     I hope he's ready, cause Id like to see him starting and doing his thang with dbrown, nic, and Phillips.
