It's not like we completely overhauled our offense. We are still giving the same looks and playcalls, just with a few new wrinkles added in. Besides, we just have too much talent for it to matter tbh

Agreed. Ran out of a lot of 3x1 formations, which is exactly what we ran during 2015 and had so much success in. However, we did add a few new plays in, especially in the run game.

Will be interesting to see Shula get a sense of flow and management with these plays. Feel like he held back against SF, and I wouldn't be surprised. Really don't expect much until week 3 when we start facing teams that really matter.

This whole "x player/coach is going to give them our secrets" stuff is way overblown.

Coaches are smart people. The vast majority of their game planning comes from film analysis. Any insider info would likely not change that much. A few nuances, yes, but not enough to make a significant difference.

Where he probably does help a lot is mimicking Cam in practices against their D.

New offense...remember?

Normally, I might downplay the "new offense" talk as just rhetoric, but CMC, and the reaction to CMC by the opposition, brought about some prolific changes to the offense this past Sunday.

Can't wait to see how Samuel will affect things.

Hopefully his snaps vastly increase while Funchess decreases. We are in dire need of some speed at the #2 position.

Joe Webb? Wouldn't you be more worried about, you know, the defensive coordinator that has practiced against our offense for 6 years now (3 years against Shula)?

Joe Webb might have a few hints towards our new scheme, but not enough to fully gameplan for.

Webb would know more about how the Panthers plan to use CMC and Samuel but that's about it. It's not like they're completely reinventing NFL style offense or anything. McDermott has seen just about everything anyway.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
