If Cam could read a defense

Yesterday's game was terrible on both sides but even more so on the offensive side. The problem is a combination of a stale and poorly executed play book, along with a QB who has no confidence or vision. Cams ability to go under center and read defense does not exist. He telegraph's all his passes to make it very easy for a defense to say hey he's def going to throw it over here so let's go get the ball. Forcing throws, throwing off back foot, not practicing during the week, are signs that this year may be worse than last year's. Shula's evolution as a offensive coordinator is a myth and something we shouldn't expect. Carolina is known to keep personnel and players over there time limit, so a change will not come in that regard. Bottom line cam has to practice, look at film nonstop, read defense and be smart and not try to make something out absolutely nothing.

David Carr is now Jimmy Clausen and Cam is Jamarcus Russell.  To quote Aaron Rodgers. People need to relax.  

Cam has been hurt, missed most preseason work and was throwing to guys he has very little work with big picture.

Cam will be fine.  Give him time.  To get healthy and gel with what will be new options at receiver and Shula to find a happy medium of how to implement them all. 

We are 2-1 while working through issues.  Thaf ain't bad.

Breese was throwing catchable balls to covered receivers. Cam was throwing uncatchable balls to open receivers. I do think there are times where Cam needs to throw to guys even if they only have half a step and trust them to beat the defender.

Cam needs a OC that designs his plays and plan around his QB.   Play to his strengths and not try to get too cute.

Cam has never been great at reading a defense and has never taken what the defense gives him. He has a knack for forcing the ball where he shouldn’t. No idea why people fight over the fact. It is what it is.

The "he can't read defenses" myth has been debunked many times over here.

That's not even mentioning the fact that it's an oft used ignorant trope to demean black QB's as unintelligent.

Idk who decided it was a good idea to wait so long for surgery on Cam but it was the wrong move. He could have spent the off season working with professionals who would have got his arm back not some half baked QB coach. Not to mention having to go into a season not 100%.
