OP updated w/ recap

thanks. good points. i hope he's right. pats D is supposed to be really bad as well. if we see the same results and shula is still here that will show a lot about the intentions of this team and the direction we're heading this season.

at this point, just putting points on the board would be a positive.

I hope he's right, I just seriously doubt he is.

Not sure about his 8-10 weeks time frame either. If we fired Shula, I don't think we'd be bringing in a new OC to try to install significant changes mid-season. We'd have an interim OC from the current staff who would largely run Shula's offense. I would guess it would be Dorsey, but I don't know. That should be a fairly seamless transition. Sure, there would be locker room impacts from firing Shula but I have no idea what those would be. I have no clue how Shula is perceived by the locker room as a whole.

At this point its not whether Shula will be fired this year but when. The When depends on Ron Rivera, because if Rivera sticks to his continuity over competency approach then the decision will be made for him at the end of the season, when he and Shula are let go. The offense needs an overhaul because this is a continuation of last season. Offense has no identity and rhythm. Cam needs what Sean McVay is doing with Goff or what Dan Quinn and Kyle Shanahan did with Matt Ryan.

Shula responsible for Greg and KB's injury?

Alright Geoff.

This is the NFL man injuries happen for every team. Our team health in 2015 was an outlier. The stars are not going to be perfectly aligned every single season. It's obvious that 2015 was the exception and not the norm for this coaching staff's ability.  Time to make a change.

I'd honestly be okay with a mediocre season and a high draft pick if it meant Shula's gone be it now or later.

Good OT/WR at the top of the draft.

Abort (this season) for (Trey) Adams!

Krash for (Arden) Key!

Washout for (Connor) Williams!

Kollapse for (Christian) Kirk!

Suck for (Courtland) Sutton!

Wreck for (Calvin) Ridley!

At this point in time, I'm glad I have scuba diving to take up my Sunday afternoons (until about mid-November).  Even with the wins, I just never felt good about this season.  And with yesterday's embarrassment, I'm glad I was underwater instead of at home watching it.  I did check on the score a couple of times, saw how they were(n't) doing, and just sighed and went about having a good time.

I would be thrilled if Shula were to be given his walking papers, but I don't see it happening anytime soon. Until that does happen, I won't be holding my breath.:shades:

Based on recent history, I would guess we're considering bringing back Jeff Davidson.
