We have exactly what we need.  Defenses are playing the deep pass and giving up the underneath routes.  Cam is trying to force it deep and ignoring the underneath receivers, which by the way are almost always open.

If you were a deep threat receiver in college, then you can be a deep threat receiver in the NFL. The only thing stopping you is the offensive coordinator.

How do you know what they are until someone is able to pass downfield?

Newton can't physically do it, and Anderson doesn't look like he could complete a pass to Jerry Rice right now.

Throw in that the "downfield threat" of Ted Ginn all too often turned out to be that he could run past you and then drop it.

Only because KB missed 2015. He wasn't our best WR when we chose not to re-sign him.
