Time to draft a QB?

I would be VERY shocked if Lamar Jackson even sniffs out the top 10 by the end of this year. He should be the first overall pick imo.

People question his “pro fit,” but I got to tell you I would consider clear cut QB1 way  ahead of everyone else. He makes the throws, he hits them very well, and he does everything an elite QB would do.

If we get him as Cam’s backup, we’re probably holding a future elite QB right behind him.

all depends on who owns draft spots but....

but Watson went at  #12.  IMO Jackson has to make huge strides or it would take an old school Raiders type move for him to go that early.

As a Kentuckian who watches Lamar on a regular basis, this kid can't throw.  Tremendous athlete and will play on Sundays, but he struggles to make even the most routine NFL throws on a consistent basis.

yep, too much RGIII.  He is a better runner and athlete though than RG....but Lamar can't do that in the NFL.  You gotta be built like Cam to run all day and we are seeing the cost of it on Cam (who is a tank).

plus, with the film out on Jackson...his flaws and issues began to show.   Some colleges don't have the talent to frustrate him but teams that do lately seem to have success doing it.

Agree we need to bring in competition for DA, either an FA or a through the draft. Most of these kids coming out now could use a year or three sitting and learning. In addition, hitting on a backup quarterback when you have an established starter can turn into valuable capital like the Patriots recently did with Brissett.

Better than DA is a good thing too.

Anderson is terrible right now.

Could not agree more---Can you say: "playing out the string " ?

Never forget when he was on the Browns -- they were losing by a ton.

Camera on DA--laughing & having a great time on the sidelines.

Panthers should absolutely draft a QB as Derek Anderson appears to be on a serious decline slope.

I'm actually pretty interested in what Kayaa does next year in preseason.

The Lions were really hoping he would make it to the PS. They really liked him. Whether that works out or not? Who knows? But it is nice to get a kid someone actually wanted. Rather than a kid who was just flat out released.

Agree a great QB draft coming up and yes we should look into it.  Expert analysis forthcoming from the Huddlers nearer draft time.

now you guys are considering the fact that Anderson is gone and Cam only has a couple years left.

Glad you "turd men" are coming around

    • did a great job getting us out of cap hell. also did nothing to make the team better once we had a roster good enough to compete for a super bowl for a hawwwg mawlie enthusiast using first round picks on shaq and vernon butler which were luxury picks while strutting out the likes of nate chandler, byron bell, matt kalil, mike remmers to protect your franchise QB was malpractice. and then of course the norman fiasco and drafting kelvin benjamin over davante adams, jarvis landry and allen robinson and doubling down on devin funchess the next year. for a guy that "came from scouting" it was crazy how he drafted 2 tall unpolished receivers simply because Cam "threw high" I remember him and Rivera thinking Byron Bell would be a better left tackle than right tackle because he was left handed lol
    • Beane took over in 2018 after Josh Allen was drafted. He's drafted 2 Pro Bowlers his entire tenure. James Cook and Dawson Knox The Bills had a generational QB fall into their lap and have wasted his prime much like we did with Cam. Alot of parallels and it's even funnier when they've had so many of our former players and built their front office around our old employees
