The Blame Game - Reviewing all of Jonathan Stewart's runs

I have seen a lot of talk about Jonathan Stewart being washed up. Well, let us take a close look and see if that is indeed the case.

Welcome to.....

THE BLAME GAME

I will present for you GIFs of every Jonathan Stewart run from Thursday night. You tell me who is to blame for the lack of production.

(Please DO NOT quote this post. Just give me the number of the play and who is to blame and why)

1.

My take: Just good defense here. Dickson took the outside man instead of the inside. Not that it would have mattered.

2.

My take: Larsen was the weakest link on the OL here. Stew had a sizeable hole to his left, would have been nice to cut it that direction immediately.

3.

giphy.gif

My take: Half the team is blocking for a screen pass. WTF?

4.

giphy.gif

My take: Matt Kalil winds up on his knees. Probably not a good thing.

5.

giphy.gif

My take: Once again, Kalil ignores the outside man. We saw this against the Saints. Could be Dickson's fault, notice he looks left like whoops.

6.

giphy.gif

My take: Turner can't get to the LB fast enough. Kalil pulled down by his jersey. Not that it mattered, defense was swarming knowing it was a run.

7.

giphy.gif

My take: Manhertz completely whiffs, forcing Stew to run left.

8.

My take: Larsen can't keep 59 from disrupting. Just good fast defense. Not a wise play call running Stewart out wide. That should be CAP or CMC.

Remember, DO NOT QUOTE THIS POST. It takes far too long for the GIFs to load on mobile.

Perhaps simplify the run blocking and add a lead fullback. Also find the best blocking TE you can find in the draft or FA.

BIN-FUGGIN-GO

The line clearly is confused about what they should be doing.

SIMPLIFY!!!!!

I called for this weeks ago.

To me, it seems there are too many moving pieces to these blocking schemes. What happened to putting a hat on a man and moving him off the line? Is out OL really that piss poor that they can't win one on one matchups and move guys 1-2 yards off the LOS??

And, if so, why are we using an old, slow, power style RB trying to force his way forward against defensive fronts who consistently knock our line backwards, on their asses, or just whiff right past them to hit Stewart.

Put CMC and Samuel in the backfield, run the read option with Cam and those 2, and ADAPT to the personnel.

They man handled or OL. Those aren't overly complex runs. Also appears those runs were being stopped almost completely by the front 7.  I think there was 1 play were a safety came in and helped on a tackle already being made.

Yes, a FB please!

Every single one of those run plays are garbage.   Terrible play designs that had no chance of succeeding, none of them.  You know why?  Predictable.

Execution. It's not that it's predictable you must be challenged.

It's no secret we want to ground and pound, when we are good, teams know we're going to run the ball and we still do it effectively.

There really isn’t supposed to be anything complicated here. Stuff any o-line should be expected to make.

Yet comically our o-line fails.

    • We just need another 50 or so players like that and we’ll have something.
    • Ive had this bad feeling it would eventually be the Watson
    • He's right. Tepper ain't the one out there dropping balls, or missing blocks, or putting up having comically bad drafts. He's the one responsible for hiring the people that have kept our scouting department that has been one of the worst at evaluating college talent in the NFL.  He forced the transition to the 3-4 even though we've never fully committed to it and never been able to draft or sign the players to do it.  He's the one that signed used car salesman Fat Fhule that hadn't even won a game against a ranked opponent.  Then he signed a GM that was one of if not the worst GM in the history of the NFL, only to replace him with his assistant.  Frank Reich hired and fired in 9 games. Multiple potential hires for HC turning down interviews.  Changing QBs like underwear. Personal quest to trade for a sexual predator QB and would have if the contract didnt have to be 100% guaranteed.  Terrible contracts Rock Hill debacle  2023 trade up to 1 and him and his wife drafting BY  Worst defense in NFL history. Worst record in major league sports over the time frame of his ownership and the fans need to be patient and understanding of an 8 year and counting rebuild? There being any fans left is a goddamn miracle.
