CMC is not a RB...he is a WR

Guy runs good routes and has good hands. He is not build to be a RB in this league. Have him tear up the middle of the field and be that 'guy' we don't have. Cam will have to learn how to use him and it would help with the crap Oline as a quick outlet. Shula is probably the problem with this idea. Give A.P a shot with Stewart. If I can see this why can't the coaches?

You guys are putting too much stock into this WR thing. What makes him dynamic is getting him lined up on LBs. If he's at receiver, he's gonna have a corner on him most plays, which takes away his advantage. He has to play RB to be a successful receiver. The problem is, when he's in the game, it's pretty much going to be a pass, because no one respects him as a runner.

Im not given up on him being a rb in the league yet after 7 games. But the thing about this team is we have no choice but to play him at wr because of how crappy the offense is. We need a receiver that can get open quickly to eliminate pressure and no use in running him behind a piece of poo o line and getting bang up early in his career. CMC at receiver helps this team better than at rb right now.

nobody respects any of our running backs right now, because our line is atrocious.

Not if he plays slot receiver, like Welker did with the Pats. McC could easily dominate as a slot receiver at this level, possibly even better than Welker did in his prime in NE.

But I still do have hope he'll have a major jump like LeVeon Bell in between the tackles and that's not out of the question. McC's vision and patience in college was just like LeVeon Bell's, it takes time for the NFL speed of the game to slow down for him and for him to be able to just play without thinking. Bell was terrible his rookie year and had a major leap his second year, as a runner. Partly due to weight loss, but also due to the game slowing down and him seeing the lanes he sees now, and letting them develop in time. McC can still get there and be an elite weapon like Bell. Also, very hard to develop in this offense as a runner right now when there are 3 defenders on you the instant you get the ball.

    • I wonder if the Hornets view Kon and McNeeley more as forwards and plan to ship off Green/Okogie/Smith for center help. I hope they don’t plan to ship off Sexton as I like what he brings to the team. (2) G - Ball, Mann, Simpson (two-way) (3) G - Sexton, Dinwiddie, Connaughton (3) F - Miller, Knueppel, McNeeley, James (two-way) (3) F - Bridges, Williams, Salaun (3) C - Diabate, Kalkbrenner, Plumlee
    • 3 main reasons he was better in 2023 and none of them concern me for his NFL prospects 1. Totally new coaching staff that was a massive downgrade and had god awful play calling and designs, the entire fan base was ready to run the coaching staff out of town a month into their first season and the play caller ended up getting changed because it was so bad. 2. Along with the staff downgrade, his QB played significantly worse after being the Pac 12 Freshman of the Year in 2023.  Constantly missed T-Mac when he was wide open, lost out on a number of TDs and a good amount of yardage, half the time T-Mac still almost made miraculous catches on the bad passes too. 3. He hurt his ankle over the summer and missed all of fall camp only to return to practice a few days before the season started and I think he had to deal with it all season long and was slightly limping at times mid season too, but kept fighting through it to still be a 1st team All American.
    • Good luck to Burns. He’s fine as a third pairing defensemen but Rod is too stubborn to do that.
