Just something I wanted to say about our offense

Through 7 games we have scored 12 touchdowns. That's an average offensive output of 12 points per game (excluding FGs).

Today the offense scored -14 points. The defense allowed 3. We lost.

We have played 7 games this season. The offense has looked like poo in 5 of them.

Our defense is not the issue. The only thing I would criticize them for is not getting turnovers, but they are playing good enough football to win us these games. We are a top 5 defense this year. Our offense is bottom 5, and there is no excuse for it. We have playmakers. We have a former MVP under center. We have the players in place to be even mediocre.

We need someone else running the damn show. I'm sick of Shula-Ball. Congrats, we held the ball 3x longer than they did, and we couldn't do poo with it.

We had 10 days to prepare for this game after laying an egg the Thursday prior. There is no excuse for how craptastic we looked today.

We still have a shot at a championship based on player personnel alone. Rivera needs to sack up and pull a 2012 Ravens and fire their OC mid season.

Not just this but 10 days to prepare against a John Fox team with a rookie QB.  What in freaking Mila Kunis is going on?!

Shula has to be fired after this. All hope is lost if he isn't. I'm almost certain all hope is lost.

I'll say what I've said elsewhere. Firing Shula doesn't go far enough. Rivera has too many issues of his own.

If I were to try and look into the future right now though: Given that Rivera blames the players for everything that goes wrong I'd expect Shula will be retained and Rivera and Hurney will overhaul the roster (likely getting rid of a lot of Gettleman guys) to their liking.

And that'll probably go pretty much like you'd expect.

Yes.

One of our biggest issues has been situational analysis and time management. In fact, we're definitely the worst in the league at that. No awareness from anybody with playcalls, actions, or even attitude.

No discipline. No one stepping up to pump everyone back up. Nothing.

We need a new HC before it's too late.

I'm not convinced there's much chance of getting a new OC, or a new head coach, or even a new GM for that matter.

New players maybe since, as Rivera has assured us, it's more about making plays than calling.

    • We agree here dawg. I'd love for Bryce to succeed as would all huddlers. I have not seen a single huddler hate Bryce for anything other than his play on the field / potential / skillset. He hasn't gotten any of the irrational hate having nothing to do with football that Cam got. And yeah I understood going into this season with Bryce again as there weren't a ton of options, but man we missed the fuging mark on upgrading at backup QB with someone who could actually push Bryce. Bryce had zero pressure on him with a 100% washed up Dalton being the only other NFL caliber QB in the system. That absolutely needs to change this offseason. Ideally with an actual starter upgrade but that seems extremely unlikely due to not having many FA options and a bad draft. But at the very least with someone like you mentioned, young/upside and/or day 3 pick in the draft.   Another note, we have a top paid and top performing OL, great young talent at WR incl. likely OROY, great RB group, average all around TE group, offensive coach with creativity in the system and good play designs (poor situational playcalling but still I put out current offensive coaching staff over Shula who held Cam back for instance). Not the absolute best situation for a QB to be in, but still a very good situation around him. And yet we have a bottom 8 offense (6th lowest points scored). Imagine taking a victory lap for a QB leading his team to the 6th lowest points scored in the league and the 22nd highest passer rating (despite being asked to do less than many other QBs; i.e. Bo Nix who isn't great either and has a slightly lower passer rating but Sean Payton actually lets him try to throw the ball deep and has him throw significantly more than Bryce). Crazy
    • similar to Atlanta and the NHL.  Atlanta has lost two NHL teams (and lost a minor leaguer).  Now there's another coalition pulling together another proposal for Atlanta to get an NHL expansion. While I'd like hockey to be back in Atlanta 'cause hockey is fun, I am skeptical that it'll happen based on previous teams' experience here alternatively: similar to Atlanta hosting a Major Tennis Tournament in advance of the US Open every mid/late summer.  Aside from the fact that Atlanta is said to be the country's largest Tennis playing city (with both USTA and ALTA, along with a number of side leagues) - playing tennis outdoors in Atlanta summer is miserable *and* they had difficulty attracting players... ticket sales were not good. So the Atlanta Open closed after 14 years.  They just couldn't make it happen, even if for all intents it appears to be massive tennis interest in the surrounding area.
    • So I saw where Luke was doing that show parallel to the game. Whatever it was, statcast something something, knew it would be a good watch. I don’t get ESPN any more but that would be one of the about few things I would watch outside of games.     He doesn’t fool around on the radio broadcast.
