I'd cream buckets if we landed Landry but is he worth a 3rd? Those values always seem abstract to me but he's a free agent next year right?

Landry is what we already have..a solid middle of the field possession receiver. We need a player who will stretch the field.

Sign Hilton...Take on the contract, let KB walk and put DF in his spot. We don’t need KB and Funchess. They are the same player.

Would have to be careful trading away Funchess or Benjamin.. I agree that their roles are too simular on the team to both by starting on either side , but I'm not quite sure which one is more valuable to the team. Funchess has been doing pretty well this season and yet KB is our leading receiver and has a critical role and connection with Cam and I don't think we want to lose that in the middle of the season.

I guess I might trade Funchess away, but I don't think we'd be getting enough value for him honestly. Would only trade him away if we got an established speed threat WR in return.. not for future picks .

Trading for a proven WR makes sense.    This team has never really "developed" a WR.   Smith was pure talent/energy and Moose was good from the get go.    KB still has a lot of holes in his game and just has a physical presence and Funchess DOES look better but not where I think he should be.    It's just not a Panthers strength.

I don't care about draft picks for the most part. They are hit or miss at best. I'd definitely take a proven guy for a draft pick. 1st round gets me a little spooked but after that...meh. Money becomes an issue but we've been predicting the Saints cap woes for years and...nothing. So I won't worry about the money that much either.

I've begun to accept that a lot of the love that was showered on Ricky Proehl's coaching abilities was undeserved.

    • I have to say, whatever the reason was, Baker was not good here, there was little indication he was gonna be good.  Other than that I pretty much blame Tepper for the first 7 years of his stewardship being pure misery and full of fugtardedness. Things were finally somewhat improved upon in year 8. No coach under Tepper even smelled 8 wins before. And that coach did it with Bryce Young. While most people hated on him.
    • Neither. Stay with Darnold, keep DJ Moore and CMC. Draft Jalen Carter, Kobie Turner in 2023. Draft Drake Maye if Darnold struggles, or Jared Verse if Darnold gets the Panthers 9 wins in 2024. Draft Tyler Shough to backup Darnold in 2025. And stay with Wilks through 2023. Get a new coach if Maye is the pick or give Wilks a defender in Verse if he wins. That's what I wanted at the end of 2022, and CJ or BY were never worth that cost. A QB with a pro pedigree that grades out in the top 20 picks isn't even worth that cost.
