Nice observation from Sunday's game

Have not seen this mentioned.

Often the Panthers  have a flyover at the end of the National Anthem.  Really cool.  The flight crews involved come to the stadium and are on field during the 3rd qtr.  During a TV timeout...they line up on the home goal line and are introduced to the stadium crowd.  This past Sunday, when they were introduced...as usual...they received a very nice ovation from the crowd.  The Panthers D was on the field with their backs to them.   Several of the players turned around and applauded the flight crews. With everything going on lately...I think this deserves some recognition.

No, we could not see it this time because of the cloud cover...but we sure could hear it.  But...that was not my point.

Don't worry about it. Electro/Fiz hasn't said a nice thing about anything since the Reagan administration. Hope that guy finds something to be happy about someday.

Our service men and women need all the applause they can get.  At my age I've seen the poor treatment of returning military from Vietnam.  I've felt the hatred.  I've witnessed, through my own sons, the return of our military from our battles and the accolades they are given.  I am proud to have served.  I am proud of all that have served.  I am proud of all that support those who've served.  But most of all, I am proud of you, ladypanther, for your observation and statement.  Well done, my lady.

If that's what you think, you're either too young to remember, have Alzheimer's, weren't paying attention, or were part of the problem. It happened...period, end of story, not fake news.

One of the reasons I love the Panthers, at the risk of sounding political when I truly don’t mean to, is that come hell or high water they never fail to show utmost appreciation and respect for our military and our flag. I’m not sure any other team in the league publicly displays service members 3-4 times per game on the big screens. I’m not sure any team in the league get the crowd reaction that we do -> a standing ovation every single time. Granted, I’ve only been to one other NFL stadium so it’s hard to say for sure. But in ATL, they showed a group of service members once, but it seemed like a special occasion. I applauded with all the Falcons fans like our teams had just scored. Some things are bigger than football, ya know?

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
