Your argument is the same as me saying do you believe Jonathan Stewart will fumble the football twice in one game? Who has fumbled only 23 times out of 1622 carries (.014% fumble rate) over his career. Statistically and factually Jones dropping a football is much higher of a probability (6% drop rate over his career) than Stewart fumbling. let alone twice in a game.

You are arguing "what if's"

• What if Julio Jones makes that catch and then the panthers march back down the field and score another TD?
• What if Jonathan Stewart Doesn't bobble that screen pass against the Eagles and put them on our 14 for an easy TD? Are Eagles still the best team in the league if we win that game?

We have the best damn defense in the league, I think they are super bowl worthy but that's my opinion.

 

Im not saying the defense is not SB worthy. Im saying you can burn your defense out. Every decade you get a defense that wins the SB. Our defense is good but it does not generate turnovers and score points like the ones that have won a SB did. We have to have an a good offense to great a balance so if the defense happens to have a let down we wont get blown out of the water or loose like we did against the bears.

We are in the Rivera Adult Stage.

Baby steps were left behind 4 years ago or more.  How are those winning seasons in a row coming along?

I agree. We do need to outplay our defense. However, what does that have to do with Rivera being a bad coach? We can revert this back to Shula or we can see exactly what the coaching staff sees that Benjamin/Funchess just wasn't a good fit for the offense we are running. We have already seen an improvement. Instead of knocking our winning coach, we should let the process happen. This is a business, they know how to run it.

I think stewarts2 fumbles in the game were not really his fault the defenders really made a good play on the ball. Its not like he was carrying the ball loose .It happens but julio was all alone and just goofed it up which is not normal and clearly is on him...i dont see those as the same. What ifs?

Rivera is still making boneheaded decisions that he has made since he has been a coach here. If he still does those things we are going to keep getting the same results. That is my issue with him..Losess in teams with better coaches. He needs to start trusting players on both sides of the ball. Shula needs to trust that he has playmakers and gove them opportunities to do so. Cam needs to trust as well, but he is a playmaker himself so if he calls his own number he better get the job done.

We made it to the divisional round of the playoffs or further three straight seasons, is that not a perennial contender? Down year last year and now another contending season. Not sure we'll have more in the future with DG gone but Rivera has done well overall here when DG was in place, and wasn't bad before that with a team coming off a 1-15 record and with Hurney's cap and terrible players.

It's not learning from mistakes that pisses everyone off about Rivera, we've dropped some heartbreaker games in the passed and it's was strictly due to Rivera's conservative  playing style, and we still see it in his 4+ seasons of coaching this season. Along with moments of horrible time management, that has been an issuse since his start.

the conservative play style even this year,has cause some teams to comeback and threaten to tie or win the game in the final mins, it's a thin line...

ha ha ha sometimes i get the feeling if we did go to the super bowl and win with a final score 17-10.... the huddle would want us to just give up as a franchise. It's hilarious.

When did I say they were his fault? I say it is not common that Stewart fumbles the football in a game.  Don't tell me you think that was the first a defender tried to punch the ball out of Stewart's grasp.....

The point of the statement is that Julio dropping the ball is part of the game, and does not dictate whether or not our coaches are incompetent of winning ball games.

    You keep on lamenting no back to back winning seasons. I'll continue to regal in our getting to the playoffs what looks to be the 4th time in the last 5 years.

 

     What's more important to you? Wins, or playoffs?
