Well since he's gonna be around for the next few years I hope he hits on a few late mid-late rounds picks this time.

Marty Hurney gets a lot of flack for a lot of things well deserved, but his first Round draft picks(the most important) were money, even after he left first time around I joked about how I wished we could keep him here just to make our first pick.

Didn't they already say they weren't going to replace Hurney til after the draft? Something about his contract not up til sometime in the summer

I'm not a huge Hurney fan but he did bring us most of our best players. I know its cool to be a pessimist here but as long as we don't make stupid trades I'm not down on the draft. They will still use the scouting dept.

It's not like Gettleman had any significant later round picks.

Most teams do fairly well with their first round picks.  For example, only one of Gettleman's 1st round pick's isn't a starter at this point.  If not for us, then for some other team.  But as long as Hurney is not allowed to trade the pick, we should be ok in that regard.

Define later round.  Second and later, he had several.  

 

And this year, he did have a 7th round pick who has done very well, albeit for another team.
