Superstar Dak not so much without Elliott..

One other thing, re: the thread title / Dak being "DONE" -- he's on ~600k per year. That's a HUGE advantage in spending money elsewhere, even if he continues to be mediocre. Doubt the Cowboys cut him loose anytime soon, unless he totally implodes.

I actually think Romo covered up quite a few of their (massive, in my book) deficiencies over the past ~decade or so. A lot of those 8-8 seasons would have been 4/5 wins without him. Too bad he isn't a little younger (and wasn't sacked so often) -- the team he deserves around him is finally in Dallas, but he's in the booth.

His 2014 season was one of the best I've ever seen from a QB. Sad that injuries derailed a HoF worthy career.

Cowboys fans were harassing him in the booth, begging him to come back. You don't know what you've got 'till it's gone, I guess.

Used to drive me nuts how he would drag crappy teams along, put up great numbers, then get pilloried when he wasn't able to accomplish inhuman feats for 17 weeks and beyond, simply because he had the misfortune of playing for "America's Team."

Meh. How would Newton look without always having a top 5, if not the very best, defense in the league. How would he look with the Patriots or Saints defense? How would he react knowing he’d have to put up 30+ points a game to win like Brady and Brees?

Cam defenders to the rescue, post #1, getting defensive and comparing a situation that has absolutely nothing to do with him except oh that’s right ‘people’, like who exactly? Give me a break and get over your insecurities, making the Panther fans look immature and dumb.

Miss me with that bullsh*t. "Always having a top 5 defense". 3 out of 7 seasons is not "always" having a top 5 defense. And how would Cam look in Belichick's or Payton's scheme? Exactly. I don't want to hear that BS. Dak was being hyped up as the next elite QB, and now that he is plummeting without Zeke people are finally seeing him for what he really is..........a game manager that was being carried by a beast supporting cast. Cam NEVER got the excuses Dak is getting, and this guy was being protected by the likes of Byron Bell (ironic eh?) and Nate Chandler and STILL getting it done. Give me a break with your self righteous fancard trash.

Dak was a 4th round pick expected to be nothing more than a backup. Last year he overachieved last year with a stellar supporting cast. And let's not forget, Cam Newton had the Panthers at 1-6, and 2-8 in his 2nd season at one point. Give the guy some time to grow before we castrate him. Cowboys defense is pretty damn awful this year as well.

Carolina defenses since 2011:

2011 - 28th in yards surrendered, 27th in points surrendered

2012 - 10th, 18th

2013 - 2nd, 2nd

2014 - 10th, 21st

2015 - 6th, 6th

2016 - 21st, 26th

So, not counting this year which isn't complete yet, by "always" you meant "once"?

BTW, 2011-2016 defense overall averages - 13th in yards surrendered, 17th in points surrendered

So, not counting this year which isn't complete yet, by "the very best" you meant "good to average"?

He went 6-10 with a 5th ranked offense breaking most rookie records for QB.. He never went on a 3 game stretch where he couldn't Generate any points..

So the fug what.. Brady was a 6th round pick and probably  the goat now..

Where he drafted has nothing to do with dude getting crowned to early and him feeling himself.. Now he looks below avg. when the real best player on the team is suspended..

This is some Bullshit!! Half the league would kill for that oline.. And nobody was calling those weapons trash when they were winning.. Dez Byrant trash?? Whatever!!! He'd be the number 1 WR here.. Hell Terance Williams would start here as well..

Lol Wow you never impress me with your lack of football knowledge and reading comprehension.

First: Find the part in my post where I called Dez Bryant trash. Go ahead. I'll wait.

Second: No. People would kill for last year's offensive line, this year's offensive line has La'el Collins replacing Doug Free, and he's done a poo job at it, and noted bust Johnathan Cooper replacing Ronald Leary. Travis Frederick, their center, Tyron Smith, Thier Left Tackle and Zack Martin, their Right Guard are arguably the best players at their position when healthy. Smith is playing hurt and Obviously was rushed back due to how bad Chaz Green and Byron Bell are, and Zack Martin went out last night and was replaced by Joe Looney.

Terrance Willams would be starting here, but he'd basically be a LaFell, he disappears for loooong stretches of games. This season, even WHEN Zeke was playing, only has 3 games with more than 50 yards. Has 0 TDs. Last year, the Cowboys good year, he had 4 games with 50 receiving yards in 15 starts. He just had his first 100 yard receiving game since the 2015 season. He's not good. He's okay. He's a below average #2 WR and he should have been upgraded for the Cowboys, but they refuse to.

Like I said in my previous post, Dak isn't Cam. Not even close. But last year showed he can be a solid Quarterback. This year everything is falling apart around Prescott, and I don't think it's fair to judge him or label him as a bust when we've spent the last 7 years defending Cam for having many of the same things happen around him.

I think Dak was in about a near-perfect situation last year. Stud RB, best OL in the business, good-to-great weapons outside, and little known about him from DCs' perspective. Now, with the RB out and the OL banged up / underperforming, he's struggling -- other teams are keying into his tendencies and passing weaknesses (there's a reason he dropped into the fourth). Can he still be "the guy" in Dallas? Sure, but he's got to get better at throwing guys open downfield (as opposed to his usual, too-short dump-offs), reading coverages, and ignoring the 'footsteps' when he's in the pocket. The dink-and-dunk stuff doesn't work when you don't have an all-world OL and RB getting you to 2nd-and-short all the time.

That said, he actually hasn't been horrible this season -- his recent rough patch has come against some tougher teams, so it's not totally attributable to the loss of Zeke. He actually played pretty well in the KC game too, where Zeke was bottled up, for what it's worth (Zeke ain't a bad decoy, of course). I think he'll bounce back in the next few weeks, then be an above-average QB over the next few years, just not a superstar. He just doesn't yet have the deep touch or pocket presence of Russell Wilson, whom I consider to be Dak's upper ceiling.

Yeah exactly this. I've watched Dak for a while in college and always thought he was devolpmental, but I liked him a lot. The wheels are falling off in Dallas and look at the 2015 season In General to see that there's not many other QBs that could run that poo show outside of Romo.

Rags i don't give a fug what you think...

Who on this site is here to impress your bitchass??

Soooooo.. I guess the rest of this novel can be shoved up your ass..lol

Ps.. Half the board would take Lafell here right now easily..

And since you have so much football knowledge..lol You would obviously know that Williams is more like Ted Ginn than Lafell .. Since he is more known for his quick feet and able to get downfield "being a deep play threat" and no hands than possession Wr like Lafell.. But again of course you knew that..lol
