Byrd's role?

Shepard has really disappointed, I had high hopes for him. Honestly after watching last game Bersin should get more snaps then Clay. I like Clay as a returner and occasional deep threat, but he isn't even close to a starter. Bring on the turds.

He's amazing on special teams though. He's a great gunner, notice that he's always right next to the punt returner when he catches it. The guy may not be Cotchery as a WR but he's been very valuable for us.

Yeah I agree. I just don’t think he should be on the field with the offense as much.

Very true, unfortunately they paid him to be more than a special teams ace.  Hopefully something starts clicking at the WR spot for him.

Folks, do not give up on Byrd.  He has been on the PS and has not seen many reps with the 1s.  It takes a WR 2 years of playing to get it...He is basically a second year player coming off injury.  Byrd has talent and has not had the chance to do much in this new system--it should benefit him.

Considering how no WRs caught a pass last week minus Funchess, Byrd will be the number 2.  I like Clay but needs to work on his hands. Shepard had his shot and blew it. I think Bersin will be in the game on short down and distance.

Bersin had a nice out route last week and Cam threw it too late. I wish Cam would anticipate the break and make the throw.

    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
    • Certainly not going to miss his constant whiffs on sacks and tackles.
