Panthers Packers rivalry?

Recommended Posts

After yesterday I think it is really heating up. I talked to many fellow Packer fans and all are saying I cant stand Carolina, we are pulling for Philadelphia, Rams or the Saints in the playoffs. A lot of them say they cant stand Cam Newton. My question is after the hit on Adams and the bannergate two years ago you guys think there is hatred developing between these two teams? Also hopefully we get you guys at home, we always have to do down there and you cant beat us up here.

I hate the fat midwestern transplants who couldn't name a single Packers player from 1967-1992 but still show up to BoA with those stupid cheeseheads every time GB comes to town.

As for the team itself I don't think it comes even close to a rivalry.  Couldn't care less about the Packers one way or another except for once every 2-3 years we play them.  I recognize Rodgers is one of the best to ever play at the position, though he gets a major pass from the media in terms of behavior/antics that Cam doesn't get, but I guess that's not his fault.

I didn’t mind the pack, then this game happened. Rodgers was whining about Davis, Adams bitching on Twitter sounding foolish saying stuff about Davis taking food out of his kids mouths. There are men and women out there who watch him who make minimum wage fighting to keep food on their table. The hit was wrong but TD is a good man and had no bad intentions on that play. Now, because cry ass Rodgers and Adams not giving up, he is vilified. I didn’t hear cam bitch on Twitter last year when a bunch of Broncos left their feet and lead with their head...to drill Cam in the head. Not that you or the Packers care, but they can go suck a bag of farts.

Not true at all. I remember Cam Newton's postgame press conference after the Superbowl. He was pouting bigtime.

Never had anything against the Packers organization but their fans are every bit as entitled and obnoxious as any in the league. They can go fug themselves. Their team is yesterday's news. They'll waste the final years of Rodgers' prime and that whiny gash can just sit up there and freeze and deal with it.

Rivalries need two sides. Recently the Panthers have had a rivalry with one team outside the division... The Seaturkeys. May fade away with them looking bad and us not meeting this year but they're the only one. The Packers are completely irrelevant to us. Sorry pal.

Didn’t say a word about getting drilled in head. He was mad he lost the biggest game of his life. He was getting asked questions like “how do you feel about the loss yada yada yada” never said poo about hits to the head. I also said last years broncos game not the super bowl.

    • Things like this happen everyday. We live in a social media driven society where loyalty is a foreign concept.
    • If you draft a guy who is healthy and has no concerns about that whatsoever and he goes out and tears his ACL in his first few games in the regular season on a physical play that's a freak accident. But when you trade up to draft an RB who is already rehabbing from a recent ACL tear and he spends the next several months continuing his rehab only to tear the same ACL again after less than a handful of regular season carries in a non contact circumstance that is no freak accident. That is a textbook example of why you do not do what we did. Particularly for what is now a plug and play position. And when you have the highest paid OL in the league over the next two years. None of that makes any logical sense. Legitimately it is and was some Scott Fitterer type foolishness. Now as for XL. The guy has not been committed to his craft. I think anyone with eyes on the situation can and would recognize that. However the warning signs were there. One season of legit production raw prospect that we knew would take time to develop etc. But Morgan and Bryce Young's own father were very high on him. I think in some capacity the reality of our limitation at QB is entering into the equation. Even TMac got a lot of flak over the course of his rookie season for not being able to haul in all of Bryce's passes. At the end of the day our fourth year QB also needs to do his part to maximize the talent we have available. As far as this year. Again. WR round 1 boils down to where are we going to get the touches for the rookie? That would require eating into not only our 8th overall picks touches but also our #2 WR whom oh yeah by the way was UNDRAFTED. I am happy to discuss WR prospects here. I was thrilled we invested what we did last year in TMac because it needed to be done and it made sense from all angles. But nowhere is it written in stone that you cannot draft a good or great WR outside of the first round. Except in the Panthers building apparently. That is not a good reflection on our scouts and front office let me tell ya. Because there's no way on this earth we are going to get back to relevancy and legitimate contender status if we can't pick some gems in the later rounds. Simple and plain.
    • This is pretty accurate our offense needs more juice. I love Cooker but he’s not enough XL ummm we’ll see this year hopefully the third year WR thing hits him and he plays better but still not enough. Honestly we need look at the Eagles they just adds Wicks and Hollywood Brown to that core. That shows the level of talent needed to compete at a championship level this coming season. And this below is the real problem KC doesn’t seem to add that much to our offense. We Makai Lemon or defense at 19
