Whats Brady Quinn worth?

ok, lets settle this. i said it before, and i will say it again. i REFUSE to evaluate anyone on that sorry Browns team. the team as a whole sucks, but that doesn't mean they have talent. Look at Braylon Edwards, he will thrive in New York, he will continue to drop passes, but he will have success none to less. Brady Quinn could benefit from a new system. and by the way, Peppers is worth more than Quinn, imo.

Quinn is worth Peppers.

I'd trade Quinn for Peppers.

Instead of riding a player out beyond his usefulness...try to plan for the future.

What is your logic behind this? Yea Peppers takes plays off nobody is going to dispute that but Peppers has proven he can make plays Quinn has proven nothing.

Quinn would probably do very well in our system. He doesn't make reads quick enough for an effective short-passing game, but he's got a cannon of an arm, he's accurate, and he's got good vision. He still needs coaching up, but he could be a lot better here than in Cleveland.

Of course, the last thing we got from Cleveland was Jeff Davidson, so maybe we should just back away slowly...

Did you see the bootleg run that Jake ran the other day against Washington? Did you swear you were watching Vinny? Quinn brings the same read capabilities of Jake...more mobility and athleticism...and youth.

Defense is doing decent even when Peppers is making sexual predator faces on the sidelines. Jake is doing better...but you've got to look at the future.

Look at it this way...what coach would come in here with contracts tied up in players 30+ years of age in large contracts...no 1st round pick to work with...and completely rebuild the system. At some point...you have to cut ties with someone big to capitalize on their worth. It's painful...but you have to do it sometimes. Don't fall into the Dan Morgan trap.

Exactly what I want in the next QB.

all im saying is its easy to say a guy sucks when he's on the browns, jake has ALOT more weapons than quinn or anderson has and he still sucks. whats better, a 8+ year veteran who maybe has 2 years max playing time who has been around long enough to know better than to make the mistakes he makes, or have a young qb who may make those same mistake but has time to learn not to make those mistakes? jake gets a pass from alot of you guys on here because he took us to the superbowl, i f i remember correctly we lost that superbowl. second place is the first loser, and im tired of losing. and losing the same way most every time. fox did the same thing with rodney peete, remember how long it took to get jake in the game? fox and co. have gambled the last two years trying to be good now instead of planning for the future. hows that gamble turning out???

So you would still end up losing with Quinn, and he hasn't shown to be any better than Jake, you take the same risk drafting a QB in the 3rd round anyway.

    • I hope Bryce balls out. Wouldn't bet the farm on it though. Morgan has to be practical though. He was placed into a situation where he was compelled to give Bryce a long look. There really haven't been any more practical options due to who has been available at the position. The Panthers had already put their chips in with Bryce, so putting more chips in by borrowing against the future and stacking on that by borrowing against the future without really having the requisite draft capital was a nonstarter. We could either dump Bryce and go dumpster diving for known and unknown JAGs at the position, or take out chances and let it play out with Bryce and hope for acceptable returns. Due to what looks like some good moves in the draft and free agency, it appears like we're finally getting into a position where we can take a swing again if need be without destroying the core of the team. I understand that you'll believe it when you see it, but Dan is gonna move on if Bryce can't cut it. There are too many professionals lives and careers tied to Bryce to simply accept the status quo.
    • Football is the ultimate team sport. No sport is more dependent on others for your success - including coaching. I don't know if Bryce is the guy, but I do know this has been a very bad team all around since he got here. One of the worst o-lines and coaching staffs I've ever seen his rookie year. One of the worst defenses and receiving groups (including TEs) I've ever seen his 2nd season - with a rookie HC and OC. An improving WR group his 3rd season mostly due to a rookie. The only other WR of note didn't really play well until after the 10th game of the season due to injury. Still no receiving TE to speak of. And lost games because of the worst pass rush in the NFL. And the only speed he's ever had on the field was DJ Chark. A washed up DJ Chark that played here one year and has had 31 yards receiving since leaving.  Carolina had no business moving up for a QB in 2023. They weren't ready. Especially if it meant trading your only good WR to do it. Now finally there's potential on defense. Potential on o-line. Potential at WR, including some actual speed in a game where speed kills. If BY falls on his face this season, then he has to own it. Situation may not be perfect, but it's at least NFL average across the board. I won't beat him up for being bad in bad situations on a bad team. But a 4th year QB has to be able to control the offense and make players/coaches right. The team looks good enough on paper to show what he can do now.
    • Mr. 0-2 every year to start the season in his career. Last year was the first year he ever played a week 3 game.
