Pff is a terrible site

But yeah all I heard this offseason was how there wasn’t a good tackle in this draft, but I knew it Ramczyk was a beast at Wisconsin

Not a lot of other resources for rating offensive linemen. Plus, I don't need a rating to see how terrible Kalil is. Just watch a game.

If Ryan hyping up Matt was a reason we signed him, it makes me doubly glad we fired Gettleman.

I honestly think JR is why we signed him. I don't fault Gettleman much for the Kalil thing cuz I just have a feeling his hands were tied

I loved Ramczyk. God damn was I pissed as hell when the Aints got both him and Lattimore. fug them, lucky fugs. Didn't expect Kamara to be that amazing before the draft but damn they got him late too. I hope all three come down to earth next year and this year is a total fluke.

Man if Dave had re-signed Ginn and picked up Whitworth? Sigh... Why did we have to have a Kalil brother hyping up Matt...

Over 90% of the time I'm strongly against going for some big name free agent, but Whitworth was one guy that I would've gladly taken. Of course he's on the older side and at any point his play could fall off a cliff, but with a year to year contract that takes that into account he deserves to be a top 3 paid OT, and I'd have been happy to be paying that to him right now. I'm not going to say it was a misfire not signing Whitworth because who the hell knows if he would've even played here (maybe he wanted to go to the west coast...?) but the M. Kalil signing was definitely a misfire. A bad one too. If it was indeed a DG move then by far his worst move. I really think it was more JR though just because that signing was so uncharacteristic of DG compared to his other moves his entire time here.

I am not sure I buy into the JR meddling storyline only because it doesn't seem to jibe with the rest of the things that were rumored(that he wouldn't play ball with guys like TD, etc). Either way, inking that contract was a fireable offense if I have ever seen one. Even the layman could see what an awful move it was. One of the top 10 worst contracts this franchise has ever dealt out, and that is saying a lot.

It’s not like his numbers are really that much different from the past few years.  People though, or were hoping, something would be different.  I’m usually not a fan of overpaying free agents but I was hoping we would offer Whiteorth enough for him to consider us.

For those that want to point out Ramcyzk I would guess a lot of them would have picked Robinson.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
