Yep all those back to back winning seasons and consistency is amazing.  Plus that much improved offense.  Yep your right.  Sorry.  Oh yeah, I almost forgot the 7-9 division winning season.  Impressive.

You mean 7-8-1 division winning season. Ironic that one year this wins the division, but this year 11 wins only gets you second place.

Impressive is your lack of knowledge.

Not sure why they would do this unless new ownership is included in this decision.   This is another reason to believe a deal may already be done.

The new ownership is probably a big part of the reason its happening.  Either they are already in place, and tacitly approve, or the current managements wants to ensure that Ron is taken care of if the new management decides to move on.  Or some combination thereof.

This probably explains the Ron is going to leave rumors as well.  Might be a negotiating tactic on Ron's part.

Who do you recommend as a replacement?  I'm not sure if your aware of RR's value.  He would be welcomed practically anywhere he was hired.  Who's been a better coach in the history of the franchise?

No one is saying that he is awful.  But, we know what we are going to get with RR.  Extremely conservative game plans.  Unwillingness to consistently adjust in game as needed.    Too scared to take any chances like Sean Payton who attempted and  recovered an onside kick during the super bowl.  Yeah, just imagine RR trying that one LOL.  Wasting timeouts.  Running down the clock to halftime even if we have timeouts to burn.  Prevent defense.  Even prevent offense.  He is also, unwilling to get rid of assistant coaches who are holding back our offense.  So yeah he is ok, but not good enough because he refuses to adjust and hasn't improved in his time here.  We can and will win with him, but not consistently.  However, the main issue is that I don't believe that we can ever win a Super Bowl with him.  I hope that I am wrong because I really want to win it this year.  I suppose anything is possible.  It just feels that we win games inspite of our coaching staff and not because of them.  There is better coaches out there.  There has to be.  Yes, I agree that he is the best coach in the short history of the Panthers, but that doesn't mean that we can't find a better coach to get us to the next level, which is winning the Super Bowl.

“In the history of the franchise”...

This line is used so much here and it’s so pathetic. It just proves how so many of you have grown to accept mediocrity

Exactly.  I mean would this absolutely amazing level of "SUCCESS" be accepted in New England, NY Giants or Pitt?  Would RR still have a job there?  I think we all know the answer.  So sad that our expectations are so much less than those teams.  There is a reason they all have multiple Super Bowl wins and we are still looking for our first.

    • I’m not mad at Moehrig.  He’s great at what he does.  And to be honest, a lot of my favorite safeties in our history were box-first type guys - Maxie, Minter, Mike Mitchell, Chris Harris…  they’re first and foremost objective was to put people on their backs and coverage was secondary.  There is a place for that.  There is a definite need for that.  Physical guys that set the tone.  So cool, we have that in Moerhig. But what we have lacked for the vast majority of our existence is a true free safety that cleans everything up on the back end.  Sometimes they come in the form of a JOAT, like Peppers.  I think he would be a fantastic compliment to Moehrig’s strengths and weaknesses.  If we don’t go after him, I certainly hope Ransom is given the chance to grow and develop in real-time with real game reps, because what he did in preseason was very encouraging to see.  I hope he can grow into that roaming center fielder with a little bit of an edge to him as an enforcer as well.  He has the tools.  In the meantime, adding Peppers would only help.
    • Option 1 is most likely. Even if he kills it this year, it wouldn't be prudent to rush an extension for one good season. If you have to pay him more because you waited another year, then he earned it. And that's OK. Adjust accordingly.
    • Cam had the advantage of having a very strong supporting cast his first 2 seasons. Things definitely worsened later on. But those first couple of years can kill a QB. Some never truly recover. If they do recover it takes years, and usually with another team. Trying to learn to be an NFL QB with TEs and WRs that are trying to learn too is a recipe for disaster. Imagine if Cam's rookie season was that 2014 offensive squad. Changes everything! I said it when they moved up in 2023. This team wasn't ready for a rookie QB yet. Anyone that thinks Stroud would have been a lot better is delusional. The correct formula is to build a strong team and then you go get your rookie QB. Not the other way around. BY is going into his third season and we're still trying to put a respectable group of WRs and TEs around him. I think they have the right personnel now. Unfortunately they haven't developed into actual NFL players yet.  This season we should expect consistency and aggressiveness from BY. Mostly for his development but also to DEVELOP his young cast.
