I wish the panthers were in the AFC east

It’s a crime the patriots are in that terrible division, since Cam has been here we are 7-1 vs the AFC east.

Every year its the same thing, the patriots get home field advantage, they play the weakest lowest seed available (after playing a wild card game) get another home game (get the refs home cooking) and waltz into the SB. Usually against an nfc team that’s been through the gauntlet

Stop whining, wish for a competent FO

not to win the super bowl, but to win back to back seasons at least. That’s the level we’re on.

This^^^.  Just extended a HC that has failed to achieve back to back winning seasons after 7 years on the job.

Until there is ownership in place that demands a higher standard of perfomance this franchise will continue to wallow in mediocrity.

I love these excuses... pats play their schedule every year. For a few years, our division was absolutely garbage too, and we couldn't even dominate it.

When we were 15-1 people said we didn't play anybody... But we played everybody on our schedule, then when it mattered, we beat the absolute poo out of the 2 teams people said would destroy us. Every week is a challenge, you never know who is going to show up and who isn't. I'm a firm believer we should have beat the poo out of the Eagles this year, but Cam didbt show up. We almost lost to the fuging Jets, barely beat the bills because they dropped a pass at the end....... Come on. Can't give the pats poo for beating their division and then struggle against it ourselves, open your eyes

would have happen by now if we played in that pathetic division

After seven years on the job, it is painfully obvious that Ron Rivera lacks the killer instinct and winning mentality required of a coach who aspires to achieve anything close to a Bill Belichick level of success.

Lots of talented Panthers players being held back by Ron and his unremarkable staff.

Panthers can't even beat the lowly Bears.

Ron treated the second game against the Saints as just another game, even though it had critical playoff implications.

Coaching staff required Cam's last second heroics to avoid losing to the division cellar dweller, Tampa Bay Bucs.  Again with playoff implications in the balance.

Bottom Line:  Ron and company are simply incapable of preparing for games at the level of Bill Belichick's coaching staff.

Ron would find a way to lose even in the AFC East.

To achieve the Patriot's level of greatness you have to beat the teams on your schedule and in the playoffs every year.  Ron and Company have only shown the ability to do that (at best) every other year.

    • Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.
    • I don't think Canales has any problem benching Bryce or moving on if Bryce doesn't come out playing like the end of last year.  It's year 3 no more excuses for Bryce
    • Yea Bryce was definitely a top half qb the second half of last season but I'm not sure Canales is 100% sold on him.  Like I've said in another post I think that's part of why we talked to so many South Carolina players in the draft process.  I think they are doing early due diligence on Sellers just in case.
