The NFL has assigned an investigator to Jerry Richardson

Kinda fet the feeling Jerry might be screwed here, and it's possible the chances of the Panthers losing a draft pick or some such might be higher too.

My feeling is that whatever the fallout may be it will be squarely on the shoulder of JR.  Although I would laugh if somehow Hurney gets caught up in this for hiding this from the league.

I don't know.  It's just a gut feeling, but I suspect somehow we're gonna wind up getting roasted before this is over.

Maybe I'm just being paranoid.

I hope that it doesn't impact the Panthers Draft Picks. What JR is being accused of is a personal crime, not a team violation.

The NDAs are what could wind up getting the team punished.

Non-disclosure agreements are supposed to be reported to the league.  We apparently failed to report four of them.

NFL is making a mistake pursuing this further at all. Would've been long forgotten by everyone literally as soon as the new owner was confirmed. And has already pretty much been forgotten just because JR announced the sale. Doubt anything comes out of it affecting us. JR may have to pay a fine but I don't see it turning into much.

Maybe that might have been possible before #metoo.  Now?  Not so much.

The undisclosed NDAs are a problem.

I always hate those stuff penalties and death penalties where it affects everyone but the offender. He’s already selling the team. Draft picks won’t hurt him. If anything take some of his money and ban him from the NFL.

Including the victims?

    • I look at it like, you have to go back to 2017 pre Tepper to have more wins than Canales gets as HC. Rivera had 11 in 2017, slipped to 7 in 2018, and we know the rest.     That is kind of a big deal to me.   We are ahead of where I expected, position wise, even if it is due to TB folding in the second half of the year. Bottom line, we are assured of playing for the division title on the last day of the season. I don’t ask for more, on a year to year big picture basis. Give me that every year for the floor - I won’t revolt.    I don’t know if it’s really a win any more than getting playoff game will be a win, unless they actually win it, but I would say we have had a positive year, exceeded most expectations.
    • I agree defense will be fine with a few upgrades. I was more referencing how the way the offense is winning games isn’t unsustainable.  Bryce still struggling to throw 200 yards a game is not the winning formula for a Super Bowl contender.
    • So your argument is Bryce isn’t a top 5 QB? I don’t care, Shough is almost 27 and is playing with more talented team than Bryce had his rookie season. Kellen Moore is also a more creative designer of offense.
