I read yesterday that he's going against many different opinions that he has gotten. Lots of docs are telling him he needs to have another corrective surgery. At this point he may never get back to where he was. If his arm strength is zapped he's potentially finished.

Would be hilarious - and total Belichick move - if he leaves New England, McDaniels takes the Patriots job, and BB takes the Colts job.

Colts are a badly run team, I'm not sure if I would want to hitch my wagon to them either.

I wouldn't want to work for Irsay. I'm not a big fan of the idea that a guy who makes decisions that affect my job might be doing so with alcohol or controlled substances in his system.

But yeah, if McDaniels does this the only team that's ever going to give him a head coaching opportunity is the Patriots. And then what of they don't? That's certainly not guaranteed.

Granted nothing is 100 percent but a lot of people are writing as if both coordinators for the pats are gone.

Belichick was the heir apparent to Parcells with the Jets and everyone knew it. They had a contract in place to where he would become defacto HC if and when Parcells retired. Parcells was waivering on whether or not to retire and taking his time. Then the Pats fired Carroll and wanted to give Belichick an interview. They sent a fax to the jets and Parcells called an emergency meeting and announced his retirement on the spot surprising a lot of people. This essentially blocked Belichick from getting an interview with NE and being able to build up his own legacy on his own. There was much butthurt. 

Then during the press conference where they were announcing Belichick as the HC, he resigned on the spot. Belichick says this was mainly due to the fact that the owner of the jets had passed away and new ownership was taking over so he wasn't really sure of the direction the franchise was headed. 

Then he created a dynasty and is probably the GOAT coach in NFL history. 

Source: just watched the two bills ESPN 30 for 30 the other day. Great watch if you're a football fan, would recommend. 

That was a complete piece of poo move by Belichick and Kraft. Dirty bullsh*t that started immediately before he was even NE's coach. Not surprising with Belichick though.

Peyton Manning singlehandedly made them relevant for years. Pretty amazing.

I was surprised when I heard he was taking that job.  What if Luck can't end up playing anymore?  That team is in complete rebuild mode at that point.

Talk was that LB Coach Brian Flores was gonna take over the defense.  Now there's word that it'll be Greg Schiano.

Schiano and Belichick in the same place?  The a--hole quotient would be off the charts.

I kind of disagree, especially considering the Jets did the same thing getting them in the building. They tried to take them away from NE, then to get around tampering accusations they made belichick the HC for 6 days where Parcells was just a consultant, then just said screw it then made him the HC anyway, all while bother were still under contract in NE.

I can understand Belichick wanting to establish his own story instead of following in the footsteps immediately behind a legend.
