A fine mess

Not sure why folks have the sky is falling attitude or believe we need to blow things up.

The only thing that happened is that Richardson left before he died because he is a dirty old man and Hurney's ex-wife did the typical throw everything against the wall divorce filing to get more money. Even she said that it was no big deal and if she realized it would be so public wouldn't have filed it.  The suspension with pay was an over reaction to the Richardson issues and instead of a PR success became another PR problem.

Hurney isn't a scout nor should he be. The draft will proceed as expected and free agency decisions like Star and Norwood have likely already been decided to a large degree.

We have a new OC and DC coming off a successful year with the likelihood of an even better one next year.

Who the new owners are going to be is the real issue here. Until then this is all just offseason hoopla.

As GM, he is the team's chief talent evaluator.

Actually he doesn't have to be. His job is to get the coaches the players they want by negotiating contracts and overseeing the big picture. He is involved in collecting talent and managing the draft but he does that along with the scouts and the head coach. But that isn't his primary job or main responsibility.

Riiiiiight.

And the head coach doesn't have to be responsible for game planning either.

True to a point. He has to be aware of the overall game plan and what his coordinators are doing but no he isn't responsible for the play to play planning because his job is the big picture. The coordinators and position coaches manage the details. His job is to manage the game as it unfolds and be responsible for the results not the exact details about getting there.

You seriously ran with that.
