CMac was over shadowed by Hunt and Kamara last year primarily due to the fact that those two dudes have two of the all time great offensive minds scheming plays for them. Not to mention, one has the luxury of playing with one of the best QBs to ever play the game.

No he was overshadowned by them because they are good running backs. The ability to run the football is a given. Those guys are near the top of the league in yards after contact. CMC? Near the bottom I would assume. Now catching the football is a whole different story.

Even big RB's don't run through a solid DL. Maybe once in a while you catch a guy off balance, but you need your OL to open a hole or a crease for a consistent running game. Our run blocking isn't good, and until that changes our RBs aren't going to look good either.

Whether you like the guy or not you have to admit that he didn't live up to the hype last season.

But I'm willing to give him the beneifit of the doubt. Kuechly didn't look good either until he got time in the middle.

This. So many Panthers fans want this guy to be amazing so bad they seem to look at him through rose colored glasses. He’s a good football player I’m not saying cut him. But would I pick him top 10 again in a redraft? Heck no. While excellent in the passing game he is severely limited and worse than advertised at doing his most important job.

My only problem with McCaffrey is that he kinda runs as if he has good blocking. There's a lot of hesitation in search of the hole for a guy that's likely going down the minute he's contacted. I'll chalk that up to inexperience last season but I hope he learns to accelerate off the line and try to create the opportunities for himself with his moves more, he's not gonna get a whole lot from his o-line.

Im excited for a competant OC. I geard Ahula ran the most complicated run schemes. Idk what norv uses but the simpler the better imo. Aka zone blocking.

I know this guy’s an idiot, but assuming CMC is *just* a slot receiver, who cares? He played a ton of snaps, was extremely reliable, picked up big third downs, made some splash plays once he got settled in. He’s being used on a majority of plays and that will only increase as our new OC unlocks him.

Its just using outdated language to downplay CMC as a player. Look at some #1 WRs and how they have less of an impact. Look at Dez Bryant.

There have been some elite RBs this year and in the recent past, but they’re also all in different situations. CMC will have a better environment to show what he can do next season. Don’t really care what his position is called when we use him all game long.

Not inly did u not click the link but you didnt read any posts after the OP lol

I mean the question is do we go after a full load back and move him to slot if norv can utilize him properly? would resolve one of the receiver issues although I still think 1-2 playmaking veterans and non-shepherd's are needed.

How does anyone even know if McCaffrey can take a full load or not? He had 10 or more carries in only 3 games last season,  and he maxed out at 15 carries.  Collectivly in those 3 contests where he got 10 or more touches on the ground,  he averaged over 4 ypc and we won all 3 games.

I said go after a separate full load back a la CJ Anderson and just move McCaffrey to wide receiver.

Everyone says this because of the perceived value of slot receivers vs runningbacks but both positions' stock have been in flux for a couple of years now. There's also added value in a guy that can do both that I don't believe is accounted for enough. Completely different than him being just one or the other.
