Put USA Today and Tim Weaver in the Mike Wallace Column

I must say that I've been just a tad---just slightly---skeptical of us acquiring Mike Wallace because he's getting up there in age, but Tim Weaver has me decidedly a little more positive about the possibility.

"Even at 31 years old, Wallace has the jets to beat practically any defensive back in the league. Last season, Wallace posted 14.4 yards per reception, which is not far off from his career average of 15. His numbers have been up and down occasionally, but he’s always done best with a quarterback that has a cannon for an arm like Ben Roethlisberger or Joe Flacco. Pairing him with Cam Newton would give the Panthers a badly-needed vertical threat.

"Wallace could likely be signed at a reasonable price given his age and he has experience in Norv Turner’s offense from his time in Minnesota. He’s also surprisingly durable, having missed only two games in his career."

Yeah,  Wallace isn't that old.  He should still have 2-3 years of tank in the gas. And I was really surprised---really surprised---to see that he's been so durable.

Sure,  if A-Rob or Watkins don't fit economically,  and we can make a value signing for Wallace,  sign me up!

Sounds like a reasonable option to me.  Those other guys are a pipedream for us.

I see what your saying but I'm really tired of this being the case. Every year the best options are a pipe dream for us. We always end up settling for less. Other teams seem to be able to sign the top FA's so why cant we for once.

They can if they want to skimp on other positions.  Chose your poison I suppose.

Like in life there is a budget.   It's like putting 24's on a beat up Pinto.  Doesn't make much sense with so many needs to address.   They will have to sign some stopgaps in the meantime which will cause the Huddle to rage.

It is what it is.

Honestly, if we decide not to go big on Watkins or ARob, then I'd prefer Donte Moncrief in the 'cheaper' category. 4.4 40, 39.5" vert, 132 broad and 7.02 3 cone. 6'2, 220, 78" wingspan and will be only 25 in August.

I know he looks like a typical Panthers "mediocre-at-best" cheap signing, but I think having guys like Hasslebeck and Brissett tossing him the rock instead of Luck pushed his numbers down. Bring him in with Cam, CMC and Olsen around him, and I think he turns it around.

I've said it all along.  Provided A-Rob and Watkins are out of reach,  then Moncrief is my number one target.  I don't think that we've seen his best by any stretch of the imagination.  He hasn't broken out per se, but he has flashed in a marked way.  He has good measurables,  athleticism and skills. And for me, the cherry on top is that he is only 25.

While everyone is talking about Robinson and Watkins,  I'm saying that there is a very real  possibility that Moncrief turns out to be the best value of the bunch.

You lowkey was racist as hell. Im from da hood, we put big rims on beat up cars because that's all we can afford and shiny rims makes our beat up cars look somewhat decent.

Jeff Janis is another under the radar imo
