Aaron Rodgers is the next big QB up. Expect those numbers to be ungodly.

I'm not a fan of the "pay one or two superstars and skimp everywhere else" approach to team building, but it's certainly popular.

He'll get guaranteed 75 million a year for five years. Watch. Packers don't spend money on anyone else and it's why he'll never win another SB.

Smart teams looked at the Seahawks, and mimicked.

Eagles are doing that now.

Get a decent rookie QB, surround him with as much talent as possible, and open a window for 3-4 years.

However, to be really successful at that, you cannot have bad contracts before said rookie QB is in place.

As we've discussed, in a climate of ridiculous contracts, drafting well is more important than ever.

Wonder which team is going to do the"trade the franchise QB before the huge contract" move?

Seahawks could trade Russell before he breaks the bank on his 3rd deal.  Candidates would have been Lions (before the extension), Packers, Panthers, Eagles (in a few years), etc....

If these contracts are "ridiculous," then so is the money that the NFL makes in general.  I certainly think that ticket prices, parking prices,  concession prices,  and even gear and paraphernalia prices have gotten to be "ridiculous," so the players that make the league go 'round may as well get paid "ridiculous" money.

    • Not sure how much he was a long term piece of this team.   Sucks to not have him as part of the rotation.   Looks like it's Lee Hunter time.
    • This post was an error. Oops and sorry for the errors in the previous one. Too slow to edit.   We’ll see what they do.
    • I am not sure he will put the over the games but we’ll probably have them.   Two things I am thinking.  We have 4 preseason games.  All the coaches have enough service time to know the standards that are in place for decades. If I recall it was play your starters just a series to start woth and build it up until week theee where play a lot and you have week four to set hour roster. Evaluate before cuts.   Bevell will certainly have the whole thing down pat.   I’d they don’t do the fries and frie air will worry too. Because it is set up to do that.     I have said since they went t three preseason people have to figure a new way are still feeling it out and trying things.  We don’t have to this year.
