Guy works his ass off, and it sounds like he expects the same of others.

Part of me wonders how that's going to medh with Rivera's philosophy that a coach doesn't have to be at the stadium at all hours to win.

I hadn't picked up on that being a Rivera philosophy.  It'll be interesting to see how reports of Navarro's letting his people do their jobs without much interference turn out.  It will certainly be a change.

Ron’s always taken a little bit from every coach he’s ever worked with, but then obviously tried to put his own stamp on it,” said Stephanie, who met Ron in 1983, as a basketball player at Cal, their alma mater. “He seems like he’s doing it the right way. And so the crazy long hours as a coach aren’t necessary. Do your job, do your work, go home to your family.

“So he’s hoping he can say ‘Look, this is how we did it and we’re still successful.’ It is about family. Some of these guys work crazy hours, and you know what? It really isn’t necessary. You’ve got the game plan, the guys are going to absorb it, and that’s all you can do. You don’t need to be in your office at 4 in the morning or stay overnight. Get your work done, and then just coach ‘em up when you have them. Hopefully that can be the new trend.”

Stephanie Rivera opens up about her husband's success

I guess Don Banks and Stephanie Rivera must have been lying.

Now why would they do that?

For the record, I doubt this is something that will be a major issue. It's just an interesting question to ponder.

But hey, since you say it didn't happen, well then...

Navarro has been hyped up to be everything I thought he would be and more. Meanwhile Tepper just seems like he’s half ass interested because he has a load of money and has connections to the NFL. At this point if it’s announced anyone but Navarro buys this team I will be absolutely CRUSHED.

It was reported we would know atleast a week before the draft at one point correct?  If so the time is soon upon us.

I hope the guys that have posted that they have insider info have legit info that pans out to Navarro purchasing this team.

This *ish is messing up my nerves man.

Can Mister go ahead and accept this bid? Ready for this to be over so everyone can move on.

Lots of suggestion that it'll be announced this week. Course that was probably true last week too, so...

I suppose the NFL could want the announcement to wait until after the Draft so as not to take attention away from that. They have similar feelings about Super Bowl week.

Don't know. Guess we'll see.

Do we have a recent "who do we want as new GM" thread?

To me, I think that's more intriguing than the owners stuff.

I've liked Navarro from the beginning especially after watching his TED talk. I have a feeling he would agree with Rivera's "Work hard, get it done, go home to family" philosophy.

But this part of the article made me laugh out loud.
