Trade down mock by Rodrique

There are many needs on this roster, including safety, cornerback, receiver, running back, tight end, interior offensive line and defensive end. And general manager Marty Hurney's evaluation of this draft class shows the highest value in the second and third rounds.

So with this mock draft, I predict (and that's a key word, folks) a trade down, to add a second and third-round pick. That would give Carolina five picks in the highest-valued part of this draft. My projection estimates a mathematical-value trade with former Panthers general manager Dave Gettleman's New York Giants. In this projection, Gettleman, fresh from the selection of running back Saquon Barkley second overall, is champing at the bit to get back into the first round for a quarterback or offensive lineman and would be a willing trade partner.

Just now, Jeremy Igo said:

Not a fan of giving up a 5th year option on a starter.

I'm in favor of filling more positions for 4 years than banking on the guy we get in round 1 to being worthy of that round 1 selection.

This draft is deep in the second and third rounds, round 1 is very top heavy

Only guys I see as worth number 24 truly are Harold Landry and Josh Jackson

I've said it once I'll say it again. Hurney's job depends on this draft. If that were me I'd want as many cracks as I could get and if I trusted my scouting department I could say: look at how I replenished the young talent and depth on this team in just one draft.

If he swings and misses in round 1 that's not going to bode well come next offseason with a new owner

    • there is one common denominator in the 2003 & 2015 Carolina Panthers teams they both had ELITE top tier Qb play.  it would require a MVP type of season from Bryce Young to have the same type of success that Jake Delhomme had in  2003 & or Cam Newton in 2015 & lead this team to a SuperBowl is this going to happen or is there any reason to believe Bryce Young is capable of playing similar to Jake Delhomme in 2003 or Cam Newton in 2015 ? well no there is no absolutely NO reason whatsoever to believe that this is going to happen in 2026 ..just saying
    • I'd actually like to see Cherelus get a fair shot to win the job in camp. Wallace is decent in drop zone coverage, but he gets abused in the play action game and is often times out of position in the run game. It might just be me, but I swear every time I watch Wallace play, I see multiple plays a game were it looks like he's just trying to be blocked. Watching Cherelus last year he at least looked like he was trying to hit someone on every play. Wallace plays like a LB who doesn't trust what he sees and it makes him passive and cautious versus Cherelus who regardless of if his decision is right or wrong goes at it 100%.
    • Agreed.  Hasn’t happened to me either, but I feel very strongly about it.  That’s not just one of the worst things a woman could do to a man, it’s a power inherent to only women and is one of the worst things a HUMAN being can do to another.  A man can’t “hide” a pregnancy or maternity.  It’s impossible.  And that sucks for anyone that has to go through that. I always got a weird vibe off her and just found her very unlikeable.  Annoying even.  I’ve always been good at reading people and there was just something about her to me that was off-putting, somewhere under the surface.  And here we are…  she is despicable.
