Hope I'm wrong, but I'm going D. Jackson seems like a workout warrior to me who's a better athlete than football player and he's under 180 pounds? Yikes. Gaulden I'm not sure about. I have no idea where we're going to play him. He played mostly in the slot in college. I'm hoping that we see him as a safety, but once again we'd be drafting a guy with the intention of changing his position. The draft pick value chart says we got fleeced in the trade.

On paper, not good but games aren't played on paper. We shall see. History isn't on our side on this one.

Considering many had Gaulden with a second grade to get an improvement at CB even if its slot or safety is a good pick.

Jackson is easily a second round prospect with late first round grades and also improves the Panthers good awful secondary from last season. He's also probably the best pure athlete in the draft at DB. He takes good angles, has make up speed, plays the ball well just doesnt catch it well.

The trade back wasnt that big of a difference in points. Basically the equivalent of a pick around 177 or so in the 6th round was the difference in value.

Solid B draft day, combined with the first round A equals a good job so far.

this team desperately needed two starters today and we got none.

Good teams get starters in the 3rd. But were back in 2007 where Hurndog sees it as the time to start experimenting with combine tweeners.

Roughly 12% of 3rd round draft picks become starters in the NFL. To expect to hit on two is absurd. Hell only about 17% of 2nd round picks become nfl Starters

We wasted a second round pick on a slot corner when we have 2 other guys who play slot already on the roster ahead of him. He's undersized both height wise and weight wise, and we are in a division with Mike Evans, Julio Jones, and Michael Thomas, and our solution is a 5'10" 178lb feather.

Then we got some tweener who doesn't have a true position in the secondary because Hurney loves to draft converts in the 3rd.

Day 2 screams vintage Hurney to me.

I give it a D just because they technically drafted positions of need, but there were far better prospects available at the time.

    • All I heard was uber rides, weight trainers, and t shirts??? Maybe some meals too........ What a monster and he should be tossed in a rusty wood chipper!!!1!11!!!!!
    • This is from 5 months ago. It was one or the other. Trade for one or draft one. We apparently called the Jets about Wilson. We also talked to the Seahawks about Metcalf. Drafting our own guy was the best course of action given the required investment. Regardless now is the time for Bryce Young to produce. We are fourth amongst all teams in cap spending on the OL. Back to back first round picks at WR and multiple young TE draft picks now. Very solid and respectable backfield. New pieces across the defense. The time is now.
    • That was just the worst time to have their worst game of the season. One key deal was the broncos guess the Panthers would NOT change any plays or flow to the game. Another key point overlook that bronco defense was truly one of the best in the NFL history. It was the best defense the Panthers faced that year, by far. They were not ready for it, but broncos were ready for the Panthers. Mix in that bad luck, poor refs showcase, and this is the golden boys last game........ Panthers needed to win by 20 and the broncos defense was not going to allow that.  Panthers were the favorites and I believe they also thought that it was going to easier than them destroying NFC playoff teams as they marched to the SB. I've heard darin Gantt say the play calls were to give remmers help, but for some reason the team never did it. During the year they never had that problem, so maybe never practiced giving help via TE/RB, or WR chip. Cam was superman that year, no need for any adjustments...... Until you meet a legendary defense with studs at all levels, Think about it, Peyton was throwing wingless dunks for the whole season, the defense had to carry his corpse to the SB. That's how good they were, not many defense are able to get to the playoffs and win a SB without decent QB play. If you recall the beginning of that defense took Tim Teblows and his non-throwing arse to the playoffs couple years before. That's insane the level of defense needed to overcome.
