I believe we just got three impact players read this from Draft Scout on RG ...http://draftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=131009&draftyear=2018&genpos=CB

hes rated the number two free safety coming out. We are confused but when you dig a little deeper you see a turnover machine with intense passion, excellent coverage skills and sound tacklers. His pff grades are exactly what this pass defense needs.  https://www.google.com/amp/s/247sports.com/college/tennessee/Article/Tennessee-Vols-football-Pro-Football-Focus-player-grades-for-2017-season-111762694/Amp Harrison has none of these skills. He's going to be groomed by Adams a very smart football player. We all know we interchange our safeties on any given play we have a aggressive excellent coverage hard hitting free safety. When I look at it that way I see a excellent prospect who gives us exactly what we need this isn't a project this is a smart football player who can play multiple roles on a defense who ask safeties to play multiple roles. We improved our pass defense we are trending in the right direction I'm extremely optimistic about what Rashaan can do. For extra value http://www.dallascowboys.com/news/2018/04/12/possible-pick-how-tennessee’s-gaulden-offers-versatility-secondary

these two analyzed him and the guy can't stop raving about his versatility and coverage skills two things needed here. Along with his turnover capabilities we got a winner guys dead azz serious no homer talk just thinking about it he's perfect for us, other names seem more appealing but I'm not a name guy we need our picks to play and produce this was a step in the right direction we wanted a FS we got a excellent one that makes plays over and over just not the one we expected.

Sounds good to me.

Good write-up.  Thanks for sharing your work.

I'm warming up to the pick.

I’ve never like Harrison. Alabama has had a lot of defensive backs not making it in the NFL. I feel that Harrison was overrated because he was surrounded with good talent. I could be wrong sure but that’s what I believe. I know nothing about the safety we drafted but if our front office picked him over other good players then I trust them to know what they are doing.

My concern is not the saluting, my concern is the speed and agility  He nearly ran a 4.7 at his pro day-a 4.63 or ss at combine.  He stool on a 7+ 3 cone.  This will be the draft where we compare picks to Bama players we passed on---Moore/Ridley, Gaulden/Harrison.

The 2017 secondary was horrible and I’m glad the Panthers are trying to address it.

They have already dumped 2 starters from last year (Coleman and Worley), Captain stunk, none of the other CB’s or safeties stepped up when given a chance and Bradberry also had a “off year”.  And Nobody knows if Elder is any good.

They brought in Cockrell and now they drafted 2 young guys. I don’t see how this can be a negative as they are improving one of the biggest weaknesses of the team.

Remember Robert Lester (SS, Bama around 2011).  I don't either.

I am thinking that we could draft a SS today. Kyzir White is still homeless.

Adams is okay. He did a dumb play with int Brees in playoffs. Even though that really wasn't an int...refs cheated. That's why I laughed so hard when they lost to Vikings. Fakes ass NFL pandering wanted to see Brees vs Brady in SB when it probably should have been Cam vs Brady.(provided they got by Eagles...toss up cause first game with Wentz was very close...even with 3 ints from Cam.)

That's the knock which is big if his game speed is there we're good . With our d we really have no true FS but typically your assignments involve good coverage and solid tackling he checks those boxes. And your right I'll look back and see did we miss on two impact players I don't believe so especially since Smittys ringing endorsement I'm in on Moore and we'll see Harrison went around the same pick so that's something I'll watch.

The reason I am optimistic:

Look at the new faces (or faces we barely saw last year)) so far:

  • D. Hall, DE
  • C. Elder, CB
  • T. Smith WR
  • J. Wright WR
  • D. Searcy S
  • R. Cockrell CB
  • T. Moton  G
  • D. Poe NT
  • Then look at the new draft picks:   Moore WR, Jackson CB, Gaulden FS.

3 WRs, 2 Safeties, 3 CBs, and a DE, DT, and OL.   I sense that we are getting better.

And I think (today) we add QB, TE, OL, SS, RB, LB.

Names to watch:

Kyzir White SS

Josh Sweat DE

Shaq Griffin SS/OLB

Riley Ferguson QB

Ian Thomas TE

Dalton Shultz TE

Duke Ejiofor DE

As much as I hate Marty, I have to say that he has stuck to the script.

The DJ factor:

The Panthers are drafting players with DJ initials.  DJ Moore and Donte Jackson.  Expect them to strongly consider Duke Ejiofor--because it is close.

    • Oh I was.  But we still had great players.
    • You keep AT unless he WANTS to get traded to a contender during the season.  He's valuable, TET, XL, and Coker need to learn how to be PROFESSIONALS on game day, practice, and the off-season.  That's what you get from AT.  ADDITIONALLY, he is clutch.  He is steady.  At is that savvy vet who will always flash. I really think they keep 7 WR's if Brycen can operate on special teams.  Week 1 you may see us heavy on WR and OL because of the massive amount of injuries across the league.  Renfrow may even be cool starting on the PS since he lives close and wouldn't need to uproot his family.  You can still make nearly 400K as a vested veteran on an NFL practice squad.  You see more veterans hanging around since the age limit was lifted. I think the 1st 53 and PS looks like so...... Offense: (25) QB (2) Young / Dalton RB (3) Chuba/Rico/Etienee WR (7) T-Mac/XL/AT/Coaker/Renfrow/JHjr/Brycen TE (3) Tremble/Sanders/Evans OL (10) Icky/Lewis/Corbett/Hunt/Moten/Brady/Mayes/Yosh/Zavala/Kingston Defense: (25) DL: (6) Brown/Robinson/Turk/Bobby B/Cam Jackson/Sam Roberts OLB: (5) Wonnom/PJ2/NicSic/Princely/Incoon ILB: (5) Rozeboom/TW/Windmon/Cherelus/Bam CB: (5) Horn/MJ/CSW/Thorton/Evans S: (4) Tre'Mo/Ransom/Demani/Scott Specialists: (3) JJ/Fitz/Martin Last spot: Right now I have it as a toss up between DJ Johnson and Bam.  Until NicSic can come back we need an extra edge.  Do we utilize TW more as a blitzer from the middle to keep Bam safe?  I'm not worried about DJJ getting picked up from another team, a little more concerned with Bam. Practice Squad: DavidMoore/JamesMitchell/JacolbyGeorge/Tuttle/Crumdley/Ray/DJJohnson/Kantra/Carter/Blacksheer/ Wright/KrysBarnes/MichaelReid/Safety pick up/RB pick up/QB pick up
