Elite first step. Major production. Undersized, but tough and still has room to grow. May never be a full-time starter but could be our Mario Addison role (before last year) for the next 5 years.

People may not realize but many successful defensive ends are only successful because they have an eliete first step. Some things can’t be taught. The fact that he has a great first step means he can be very successful.

Do y'all really think hurney is making all these picks himself? Ron's a defensive head coach...I have a strong feeling that anybody we're taking especially  on the defensive side isn't being picked unless Ron and defensive staff are pushing for it. Doesn't mean they're going to pan out of course but putting all the blame/credit on hurney seems crazy. Gettleman seemed much more of a "hey Ron this is who we're taking gm"

What were you guys expecting? We needed help with the pass rush. We don’t necessarily need a blue chip starter at DE. A one trick pony pass rusher fills a void for a season before we take one in the first next year. Plus we have Hall.

He looks like an interesting sub package player.  Could be a fun player to watch when he gets on the field.

He's smaller than most our linebackers .......yikes

The amount of players we took this draft with lack of measureables is alarming....

Yeah, measurables can be overrated, but virtually everyone we've drafted has concerns with their measurables.

Moore lacks ideal height for an outside WR.

Jackson weighs less than 180 pounds.

Gaulden tested below average in every athletic category.

Haynes is an undersized DE with LB measurables.

Carter is an undersized LB with marginal athleticism measurables.

I really hope we cook up some interesting ways to use Haynes. But... Rivera said these same types of things when we drafted Shaq. Raved about how Shaq would allow them to stay in their base 4-3 defense more often and yada, yada, yada. He was basically just a backup LB. We played the exact same on D.

I admittedly know very little about the last two picks but they are both guys with heavy production in their college careers. The draft is such a crapshoot at this point. I don’t mind taking the guys who were valuable at big programs and seeing what they can do in the pros. Might take a couple years to develop but they’re at worst STs contributors until then.

Just being devil's advocate here, but when you have big time production at a power five conference program you're not going to slip through any cracks and get overlooked by scouting departments. I'm sure everyone took a good look at them.
