Carolina Panthers Select Jermaine Carter Jr. - LB - Maryland

I remember saying huh about David Mayo a few years ago.  I will give this guy a chance.  Late round picks have never been Hurney's problem.  It's the middle that has always been the problem.  Captain, Swartz, Handgarter, Jeff King all these guys were 5th round or later players that ended up starting for at least a couple years with the Panthers or someone else.  The middle is what usually sucks.

Haha- all of you think you know more than NFL scouts.

If you replaced the Panthers personell responsible for drafting and scouting with the most knowledgable huddlers, we'd have a much better overall team I'm willing to bet

Not beacuse were so amazing at drafting or scouting. But because most of us arent dumb asses they will infinitely draft undersized position-less players and much more liekly to go with at least a few blue chip world beaters instead.

CAR.png161. Jermaine Carter Jr., OLB, Maryland

Grade: C+

Undersized linebacker who's fast but overly twitchy. High energy. Gets stuck on too many blocks

Oh noes a C

So do we listen to that or ignore it since it wasn't an A like the rest?

I'm not saying this to instigate but you've got to know objectively speaking how ridiculous that sounds.

These guys are looking at countless hours of tape, have legitimate discussion with other qualified scouts, and then marry that with the coaches input about how well it fits the scheme.

These guys also have employment and advancement riding on it. If a fan is wrong, oh well. If they're right, they can brag about it.

But it doesn't in any change the fact the guys making the decision on who to pick are tremendously more qualified than me or you.

Nah you listen to them all but take everything with a grain of salt. The NFL draft is like gambling. 50% first round picks dont even start, 70% of 2nd round picks never start, 85% of third round picks never start, 90% of 4th round picks never start... 93% of 5th round picks never start.

it's a crap shoot and most teams miss on most picks past round 1.  Just how the draft works.

I just find it interesting that this is literally the first draft we've ever had where most of our picks are rated as an A.

That is interesting point but I pulled from two different sites and both have given this draft multiple A's. NFL.com have all three of the first three picks an A.

Undersized LB with marginal NFL athleticism. We honestly probably could've gotten this guy as a UDFA.

honest question

how on gods green earth do you think you know where a certain late round guy falls on other teams draft boards? have you watched tape on this guy? id bet not... have the media guys talked about this guy? prob not alot.. they talk mostly about day 1 and day 2 guys

i get having an opinion and totally cool to express it, but you sound so sure of yourself .  how? theres no way you are honestly sitting there thinking your youtube/ media draft projection reading self knows where I guy is valued on 32 teams big board

silly

come back down to earth. we fans need to realize how small our perspective is and how little of a sample size we have to judge and base off of guys..

carry on

Hence the word "probably". Did I make a definitive statement?

You're triggered as fug right now, bro. Pack a bowl or something.

These types of posts are so lazy. What is the point of having any discussion then?

This. If we can’t rant about ToughGuy McLunchpail being drafted in the scrap rounds then what’s the point of this board?
