Yeah I am too

But this is the huddle that discussion will burn out fast and be replaced with "our draft picks suck."

I'd take Ray Horton in a heartbeat but he's never worked with Rivera.

Dennis Thurman is good too but also doesn't know Rivera unless you count through McDermott (who fired him).

Hitman Harris knows Rivera but he's not as experienced as the others.  He's never been a full time DB coach, only an assistant.

From the article...

Quote

Responding to a question from an Observer reporter at Quail Hollow Club, head coach Ron Rivera said “it's a complicated situation.”

He referred the Observer to Fuller, who did not respond to messages left Wednesday afternoon.

"Why don't you ask him" type responses generally aren't a good sign.

Frankly given that this team hasn't properly developed but one DB over the past decade I'm inclined to say we're looking at an upgrade

His phone conversations with the rookie DBs and the allusion to previous conversations he had with them seems to dispell the notion that he didn't like the picks.

    • After last season, it was the same question. And the answer most people came to was "If he doesn't make the playoffs, he's gone." He made the playoffs. No matter how it was done, we made it to the playoffs. He's safe. He's going to have a chance to keep working this out, even if next season isn't a playoff one.  I think we'll do better next year than we did this season. There's something being built here.
    • The NBA is a very fickle league. Kon is one of the hottest rookies in years and beyond just his play on the court he is a very steady competitor and that translates to the rest of the team. That has been a glaring absence with the culture of this franchise through the bulk of the LaMelo Ball years that's just being completely blunt and realistic. The enigma of LaMelo Ball is he is entering year 6 and still either red hot or ice cold. We need him to find that sweet spot. Logic dictates the Hornets will want to see this core again next year. But the clock is beyond ticking at this point. It's put up or shut up. Especially considering what the Thunder managed to do recently. I'm hopeful they can keep these wins rolling in and get some much needed playoff experience under their belts which will help substantially.
    • I think as long as the Panthers are competitive with Canales they should keep him. Pepper needs to repair his/the teams image as a place prized free agents aren't hesitant to consider. Just dont do any crazy poo for a few years.
