Is the one with the most experience, so this time of year it is what it is. Nobody can sit here and say that there's not going to be competition. there will be an open competition and the best man is going to win. That should be what everybody wants.

Wow he had 5 seconds to get rid of the ball, really couldn't blame him or the oline for that. Look at Brady and Rodgers the ball is way out of their hand before then. I bet if you look at that play further out you would see our receivers not getting separation or getting open. That's a terrible video to go by imo!

Without all the reactionary assumptive opinions..

how did Amini grade out last year? I thought he did decent.

And maybe this is just coach speak to motivate Moton/ the promising heap of other contenders

Huddler,

I’ve noticed you’ve been making some well thought out, quality, logical posts.

Whats wrong ?

Good stuff.

Did you really  expect anything less?

This is Rivera we are talking about.

? So open competition with naming the current starter is a negative?

He basically said it’s this guy for now, but if someone plays better they will get the job.

How is that a negative?

Some people just want to hate....

I dont care what anybody says, Riveras evaluation skills as a coach are complete garbage and holds this team back. No wonder he was passed up 9 times.

Won coach of the year twice, winning season 4 of the last 5 seasons.

just had the offense completely reworked this offseason.

yeah coach is total garbage?

my only fault for Rivera was not firing Shula sooner, but with that said the guy he wanted in Norv Turner didn’t want the job when offered the first time around.

I hope it's coach speak but you never know with Rivera.  Amini doesn't even deserve to be on this roster, much less the starting LG.

If the left side of the line is Kalil-Silatolu then you may as well put Cam on IR now.

Oh, good Lord!  What the hell happened to common sense?  Amini is the most experienced OG we have, so of course he's the first one up.  No matter what you think of Moton, Larsen, or any of the other options, they are not going to be handed the job.  They are going to have to earn it.

In fact, being named the front runner this early in a competition like this is actually not a good thing.  It means you are the rabbit, the one that sets the pace, but is not a serious candidate, the one nobody expects to win.

Remember when Cam came in, he wasn't handed the starting job right out of the gate, even though everyone knew he was going to be the game one starter.  It's the way these things work. You want players to earn their spot through competition, not be slotted without ever proving they deserve it.

All this consternation is silly!
