So how about those Panthers anyway? Do we get a three game win streak? :)

Jake and the Special Teams sucked Sunday, and we still got the big W. I'll take it any day, especially against a division opponent.

I loved that the Defense allowed only one touchdown. Considering what they looked like early, that was beautiful. I want to put Hollis Thomas on my Christmas list. I would invite him for Thanksgiving, but I have a budget...

The best part of the D is that we were never so far ahead that Tampa had to abandon the run, and they still got nothing. Yes, they averaged almost 5 yards per carry, but when we had to stop them we did.

Johnson had a quarterback rating of 95.5 in the first half, and finished with a 67.5 rating after we made adjustments at the half. That was a beautiful thing to watch in the second half.

I loved the running game, especially the way it came alive at the end.

I didn't care for the play-calling, especially in the passing game. I think we should get Smitty involved earlier, that four yard play needed to come in the first quarter, not in the fourth. But hey, we won.

I liked our kicking game a lot, but our coverage... ouch. Dante Wesley's hit and that return? Oy...

Still, we're primed for a three game streak of the good kind next Sunday. Buffalo has no passing game, and we're stuffing the run now. It's a home game, and we're going to run all over them.

Anyone want to discuss how great it will be to get back to .500 after our start? :)

The Jets put up over 300 yards on the ground against the Bills yesterday' date=' Double Trouble goes nuts again Sunday and hopefully Davidson has enough sense to give Smitty some reverses, direct snaps and screens.[/quote']

to hell with smith. if davidson has enough sense, he'd keep the gameplan plain, simple, and ugly.

if winning the game means he doesn't touch the ball at all, then so be it.

this is a team built to run. use this opportunity to build off of what they've been doing against washington and tampa bay. continue to pound the rock 40x a game over the next 2 weeks. let the o-line and the RBs develop more chemistry. they're going to need the workout in order to push thru the second half of the season.

That guy Terrel Owens is coming too town. :cuss:

He dreams of dollars sleeping

He whines when he's awake

He hates his QBs, bad or good

So imagine if he had Jake!

Oh you better watch out

You better not cry

You keep him happy

Or he'll OD and die

Terrel Owens' coming to town!

HAPPY WEEK 7 EVERYONE!!!

Bottomline 3 wins this season is not good enough for us fans. Ok if carolina suddenly went on a 8 game winning streak that gets us to the playoffs again. Then I would say job well done to fox and the panthers. But with our schedule and how Jake is playing right now. these big time teams we are going to play. They are going to destroy use like the first 3 teams did in the first 3 games of the season. The only way we have won this season is by bearly beating teams who are bad as us are worse. Good carolina won one agaist a sorry @ss team are 2. But again 3 wins don't get us anywhere. Face that fact.

that would only work for one more week and then they would actually have to address flaws or take a beating. Need to go ahead and address the problems now.....

To hell with Smith......what are you smoking, I wasn't saying it because I want him to get stats. The guy is a play maker plain and simple you don't ignore your play makers. Defenses don't really have to defend Smith as much now knowing that Jake is a liability. By giving Smitty some new ways to get the ball you put the defense on their heels and perhaps open the run game up even more.

    • I hope Bryce balls out. Wouldn't bet the farm on it though. Morgan has to be practical though. He was placed into a situation where he was compelled to give Bryce a long look. There really haven't been any more practical options due to who has been available at the position. The Panthers had already put their chips in with Bryce, so putting more chips in by borrowing against the future and stacking on that by borrowing against the future without really having the requisite draft capital was a nonstarter. We could either dump Bryce and go dumpster diving for known and unknown JAGs at the position, or take out chances and let it play out with Bryce and hope for acceptable returns. Due to what looks like some good moves in the draft and free agency, it appears like we're finally getting into a position where we can take a swing again if need be without destroying the core of the team. I understand that you'll believe it when you see it, but Dan is gonna move on if Bryce can't cut it. There are too many professionals lives and careers tied to Bryce to simply accept the status quo.
    • Football is the ultimate team sport. No sport is more dependent on others for your success - including coaching. I don't know if Bryce is the guy, but I do know this has been a very bad team all around since he got here. One of the worst o-lines and coaching staffs I've ever seen his rookie year. One of the worst defenses and receiving groups (including TEs) I've ever seen his 2nd season - with a rookie HC and OC. An improving WR group his 3rd season mostly due to a rookie. The only other WR of note didn't really play well until after the 10th game of the season due to injury. Still no receiving TE to speak of. And lost games because of the worst pass rush in the NFL. And the only speed he's ever had on the field was DJ Chark. A washed up DJ Chark that played here one year and has had 31 yards receiving since leaving.  Carolina had no business moving up for a QB in 2023. They weren't ready. Especially if it meant trading your only good WR to do it. Now finally there's potential on defense. Potential on o-line. Potential at WR, including some actual speed in a game where speed kills. If BY falls on his face this season, then he has to own it. Situation may not be perfect, but it's at least NFL average across the board. I won't beat him up for being bad in bad situations on a bad team. But a 4th year QB has to be able to control the offense and make players/coaches right. The team looks good enough on paper to show what he can do now.
